Does the WL get very crowded??

I am going in August and I am wondering if the hotel gets very crowded. I mean there over 700 rooms and it would seem to me it could be very crowded at times.

One of the biggest problem at WL is the crowded pool. Chairs are impossible to get mid-day. We were there in July last year for 10 days and we stayed away from the main pool, and spent time in the villa pool. The main pool was crazy. The lines at Roaring forks can sometimes be pretty long. Other than that, those were the only problems when the resort is at capacity.

We stayed in a WL Villa mid-March for spring break and it did seem pretty crowded to me. The lobby was busy, there were always folks waiting to check in, Whispering Canyon was loud and the pool was busy. The beach and the Villas pool were never too crowded and the main pool was OK if you went early in the day or in the evening. If you find yourself needing some peace and quiet, walk down to the Villas end of the Lodge. It is always peaceful down there and there are a few small sitting rooms that are usually empty and great for picture-taking. There are also some wonderful rocking chairs!

when we went over spring break, the only problem we had was getting a chair at the pool during the middle of the day. We went over to the villas and had no problem.

You know, I spent a week at WL last August and didn't even know there was a pool at the villas! Is this open to all guests or is it supposed to be for the villas guests? Just curious. If it is for anyone, it will be a nice option this June when we go.

The quiet pool in front of the villas is for everyone. We would always walk by the quiet pool when going to the main pool or down to the dock - and it was never to busy.

We have stayed in VWL during both July and August, and while the main pool is quite often very busy, we never had a problem finding a chair somewhere. It might not be RIGHT where you want it, but we always found a couple... But we tend to spend more time IN the pool anyway... The quiet pool would be a good bet if you just want to lay in the sun and jump in a pool every so often.
