Does the Safari run after dark in the AK?

Never been to AK at night. I will be there over the New Year, and AK is open until 8:00 one night. Can we get on the Safari, or does it close after dark?

I believe it only runs until 4:30 or 4:45.

I think PP is right. They have to get the animals back in their pens for the night, which takes quite a bit of time and probably not something they can accomplish safely in the dark.

Currently there is a private after dark safari but I heard they are working on a regular after dark safari. It'll probably be done when the Rivers of Light is completed.

Sorry about that. But I do think they are working on the nighttime at AK.

The safari closes just before dusk so the time will vary through-out the year. There is usually a sign right past the turnstiles that says - paraphrasing "due to dusk, the last Kilimanjaro Safari will be at ---" When I was there a couple of weeks ago the last safari was at 4:45 p.m., as previously mentioned.
