Does the price of rooms drop around the 30 day mark out?

I need a Saturday evening for our trip in May. The rates are very very high right now. Someone told me that Disney drops rates all the time because at the 30 day mark payment in full is due for Disney packages and sometimes visitors cancel. Is this true?

Nope. It's true that guests do cancel at the 30 day mark. But WDW does not drop prices because of it.

No, as dansdad said. WDW has a very high occupancy level and will not have any issues re-renting whatever rooms become available. The best you can do is look for a discount, TA exclusive deal, orbitz etc.

We did find a more reasonably priced room at about 32-33 days out for our current trip, but I don't think it was a case of dropping price--more that most values/moderates were sold out when we were initially looking, and someone must have cancelled at POFQ so we were able to get a room there (at a more reasonable price than either the Poly or AoA suites, which were about the only room types coming up previously).
