Does the old Pal Mickey still work in the parks? We got ours last February and then it was updated (May, I think?).
Will the older Pal Mickey's still work in the parks?

Yes! DD bought hers Oct. 2004 and it worked fine a few months ago in the parks.

Yes it still works but it doesn't do any of the things the newer one is supposed to be able to do.

-Dispense Fast Passes.

-Make meal reservations 30 minutes in advance.

-Fire his own Buzz Lightyear Laser blasts (extra points if you hit Emperor Zurg).

-Clear an extra-wide space on Main Street for parade-viewing 10 minutes before start-time.

-Provide instant access to ride in the monorail operator's cabin.

-Grab the attention of the CM in charge of finding "Honorary Parade Marshall Families."

-Locate "front and center" last-minute seating at Fantasmic! (on nights when the wind is blowing AWAY from the audience).

-Provide speedy half-empty bus-trips to your resort (at closing time) from all parks.

-Escort you to the mostly empty "E-Ticket" attractions at evening EMH's.

-And make ANY mug a "free refills for your entire stay" mug that works in any WDW establishment.

Now, THATS a Pal Mickey!

My old Pal Mickey only tells jokes now at home. I thought I should still be able to play the games with him Anybody else had this??

Yeah, if the new one does that, I think I'd spring for a few extra bucks and get the new one. Thanks for the laugh

Yes it does
Oh man I have quite the pal mickey story
I bought one....Two Years ago in August at the GF
It worked great
Then it started having problems...just vibrating and weird things
A cast member reset it and it still didn't work...so she gave me a new one (this is a different trip)
Then this august my dad bought me the new one
No problems yet and I love this little guy

For future reference, (and for those new to PM) THAT is a sign your PM needs new batteries.

I guess your older one may have had other problems too, so it was replaced,
but...

In general, if PM just sort of makes a brief "Mickey voice" sound and then starts vibrating and won't stop, he needs MORE POWER (new batteries)

Poor hungry little guy!
