Does the Kiss Goodnight still happen??

When we went down in May, we waited and waited and finally I asked a CM if it already happened and she said yes. I was bummed out because after Wishes we just stood there and stood there and yes we stood there some more. When she said that it already happened we turned to leave and ran into another CM and asked about it, she then got on her radio and spoke with someone and they said that it HADN'T happened yet and that it would be soon. So once again we stood there and waited and waited some more. With the last of the guest trickling out, the FIRST CM that we asked came up to us and asked us what we were doing. I explained to her that someone said it was about to happen and then she gave my FDH and me a look of disgust and walked away. Well, in the end IT DID NOT HAPPEN and we did all that standing there for nothing. Is it still there? Is it a Magical Moment that you can't wait for? Anyone have it online for Window's Media player?? Thanks in advance!!

This sounds exactly like what we did a few years back. Im not sure if it was over our 1st Thanksgiving trip, or if it was in October the following year. We stayed for Spectro, Fireworks, sent my dad on his way and we sat there in front of the castle waiting. We people watched.. the place was clearing out. and we were still waiting. After over 30 minutes, we went over to a CM to ask him about the kiss goodnight. He said he had actually heard people talk about it before, but didnt know what it was. He went to ask someone.. then he came back and said he needed to find someone who knew what it was. After another 15-20 minutes, he came back and said Yes, it would happen.. so we waited some more. After over an hour of sitting there, and the Cm hanging out with us too, we decided to leave. The CM felt bad, but we didnt want to wait any longer and miss our buses back. I too would love to know if they still do it.. and pics would be great!

I am not exactly sure what the Kiss goodnight is? Last may we stayed at magic kingdom for about an hour after they closed and the only thing that we noticed was a voice and music that came over the public announcement speakers thanking everyone for visiting the magic kingdom, and hoping that we had a magic time, is that the kiss goodnight?

yup, that was it, very cool. I think I was at the train station searching for DW, so i did not notice the castle changing colors. I hope they do this in December, now I now what to look for.

We were there on Monday night 9/26 and waited for 1 hour and 15 minutes past park closing and still didn't see it. I had seen it before, quite by accident, not even realizing what it was until I read about it here on the DIS. We finally had to leave to get back to our resort. Bummer....I was looking forward to it, too!

But if you mean the castle changing colors and different shapes in different colors being projected onto the castle then yup My DW and I saw it about three weeks ago

SO THAT is what the Kiss is!! I thought that Mickey standing at the rail of the Train Station saying Good night and throwing Kisses was it. First time we saw Mickey waving Good night my Twins burst into tears and wanted to go back and give him a kiss Good night!!!

We tried to wait for it for the first time on Sept. 22nd. I asked a cm about it and she said she did not know what I was talking about. Second cm I asked said they had heard about it but did not know what I was talking about. Third cm first said he did not know what I was talking about but hinted that yes sometime stuff happens. So, we hung around. 3rd cm strolled by us and whispered "if it will happen, it will happen at 10:00". We stuck around until 10:20 and nothing. We will try again on October 29th.

I saw this for the first time last month and almost cried. Well, o.k., I did have a lump in my throat. The realization of that being my last night at WDW and the MK really made me sad. But then I thought, "Hey, I am already planning my next trip"! That helped!

I think they do the kiss goodnight more during the crowded times at the MK. I have seen it Presidents week, Spring Break, and Thanksgiving trip last year.

It is cute & magical and when it happens it is about 1 hour after official park closing. They do it to "remind" people that the park is closing and you need to LEAVE.
