We are staying at POR in Oct. for the first time. I've been reading threads saying the fc is no good. We are a family that likes to eat. :cool1: Should I switch to another moderate for a better fc? Linda

DH and I stayed at POFQ last Sept. We went over to the food court at POR for dinner one night. We enjoyed it so much that we went back in April, while we were staying at POP.

:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

We liked the FC, but only ate one lunch and some breakfasts there. For lunch, I had the make your own pasta station and really liked it, and my DH had a sandwich that he really liked. For breakfast, we would just get some protein for the kids (eggs or sausage) and fruit...

We did like the resort, so I don't think I would let the food court sway your decision unless you plan to eat every meal there ??

This time, we are staying at CSR, just to try out a different resort.

Last year we were staying at the Poly and went to POR for lunch. POR has a great food court, plenty of selections and lots of tables plus the food is really good. We think POR is one of the loveliest resorts at WDW.

We stayed at POFQ and made a special trip to POR as well. The build your own pasta and salad stations are excellent and I don't think they are anywhere else on property. There was also a build your own sundae station that DH loved.

It is wonderful IMHO! If you're on the dining plan, you get a really great value for your QS points. Lots to choose from, lots of seating (inside and outside). We really loved the five nights we spent at POR and the several meals we ate there! It is so much better than CSR and PepperMarket (in my opinion anyway!)

I think it's one of the best resort food courts at WDW. There is plenty of variety, and the make your own pasta and salad stations are great! There is plenty of seating, too.

I'm not sure where you read that, but POR has one of the best food courts on Disney property. The make your own pasta station is great! It is too bad all the food courts don't have something like that. And do yourself a favor and get a magic cookie bar. Yum!!

MMmmm... I love the POR FC

My faves include: The make your own salad station
The Cupcakes
The make your own pasta station
The Cinnamon rolls
and it's a quick walk to POFQ for Beignets!

We always stay at POR, but spend so much time in the parks I'm almost disappointed we don't eat at the food court more - it's excellent.

i'm going to have to leave the boards if these inane questions don't stop. why in the world do we take someone's opinion and go with it? pick 1 hotel or 1 ride or 1 attraction or 1 restaurant or 1 food item or 1 policy or 1 procedure and you will find someone who doesn't like it. disney isn't mega successful because they do things that "stink". one must always go, try for themselves, and form their own opinion.

I think POR has by far the best food court of any of the resorts that we have stayed at. Best for sure of the 4 mods. I do like the set-up of the POP bakery area better, but that would be only thing that I think is better than POR.

Perhaps you should leave the boards. Disboards pride themselves on being the internets largest and friendliest community of disney fans, I don't think anyone would miss your negative attitude. If you can't say something nice then don't say anything at all.
I appreciate the opinions of my fellow disers, with all the options avalible it is nice to have a little guidance.

I agree, its a nice FC....but I must say I liked it a LOT better before it got redone about 4yrs ago...It used to be even better!

Honestly, I like the food courts at the all-stars and POP as well..Im always up for a nice food court

And FWIW I liked the food court. Only had some sandwiches and snacks but everything we had was good and I happen to enjoy the look of it as well.

I have stayed at POR in the last 18 months and their food court was great. The pasta station, where the chef lets you choose the pasta, sauce and other veggies or meats was great, and cooked right in front of you. delicious salads, and ice cream, and loads of normal family food aside from burgers and nuggets were available. a short boat ride away(5 min) at the sister resort, POFQ and they have a great food area as well. fresh Beignets(small french donuts) and other great items with a cajun/creole twist for entees, along with traditional items, and FRIED CHICKEN. it ws really good.
at both places, for your cs meal if you are on the dinning plan, you may substitue the dessert for the apple slices with caramel or veggie sticks with a dipping sauce. i took these items back to the room for snacks. also, at POR they make on site fresh krispy treat bars, and my DH loves those.
I think you will be happy here. I hope you have a geat trip. :goodvibes

Add me to the fans of the POR food court too! It's one of my favorite ones - we've started staying at Pop now, but will still occasionally make a trip back to that food court! Don't worry!

I don't know if you've heard right - everything I've read (and experienced) gives POR food court rave reviews!!

The make-your-own pasta in the evening, make-your-own omelette in the morning, the view of the river, the easy-to-navigate dining room, the overall decor, I just loved it!

Oh, and my husband wanted to add three words:

MAGIC COOKIE BARS!
:rotfl:

:confused3

The question is perfectly valid. In my experience the Dis is set up so that people can share information, opinions and experiences in a positive environment!

In the 5 week since you joined, you yourself have started 63 threads asking for information on a wide variety of topics. Were you not appreciative of the help you rec'd?

Leave if you'd like...

To the OP. The reviews I have been reading sound quite positive. I can't wait to try it for myself. I am looking forward to trying out the pasta and the carving station.
