Does the Disney Web site do discounts?

I'm already booked for November but I've gotten such great answers to my other questions that I had to ask this one too -- when you book online using the web tool, does it give you generally available discounts?

I searched a couple of times when the October/November discounts came out and the Disney online system always showed the same rates, even when I switched dates and resorts. Early in my process I sent a query to one of the Disney specialist travel agencies, but as you might imagine when the discounts first came out, they were swamped, so asking for multiple options was tough. So I just booked at what looked like the regular rates, figuring the discounts were gone for the rooms I wanted.

For next time, though, can I trust the web tool to show available discounts or do I have to talk to a person (Disney or TA) to be sure?

As long as your trip falls in the dates on the promos you should be able to use the disney site. This falls promos were a little tricky w/ blackout days and weekends at different resort categories. You can always use a disney TA or call CRO to ask what the price would be w/ the code applied. I usually call CRO myself if the room/rate I want is not available online and most of the times have been able to get it. A few times I have had to check back and call a few days in a row but something usually opens up. I always check on website first to get a general idea of what its going to be. To ensure you are getting the best deal I would do both, price it online and then call to see if you can get a better deal. You can also ask if thier is PIN attached to your account when you call and you may end up saving even more.

On the Disney site, usually at the bottom of the webpage there is a box that says Special Offers and if you click on it, it will take you to a page that describes the discount, then it will have nother button to click on that will take you to the booking section, where you can look at what is avail. Not all rooms will be discounted, so you can't just apply the code to an existing reservation, unless they have that room in the discount category.

I usually look up what I want, then call CRO or WDTC and book that room through them, it is easier to deal with a real person than the website anyway (I have to make special requests because I my mom travels with us and she needs a HC room), but I know what I want when I call.
