Does the Coral Reef restaurant have good food? Is it worth the money? How many table service credits is it? Also, is it hard to get a seat by the big windows?

It is 1 table service credit! There are only so many tables by the tank! But all the views are pretty good!:rotfl: The food is great!:cheer2:

The food is ok, I heard they took away the catfish which was my fav. It is 1 TS and u can request a table by the tank but you will wait longer.

We did not like the food. We thought the atmosphere was lovely, though

We had 11 people together and it's a collective :thumbsup2 !! We weren't sitting directily in front of the tank, but the floor seemed to be staged so everyone got a good view. Will definately be going back.

Coral Reef had some high points and some low points for us. The restaurant is beautiful, and my daughter loved the tanks! Both my husband and I loved the entrees we ordered. he ordered a blackened fish and I had a steak. The dessert as just o.k. for me. At the end of the meal, we sat for over 30 minutes waiting for our waiter to return so we could pay. We finally had to stop another waiter and he just pointedly said, "I'm not your waiter." Of course, we knew that; we just wanted to leave the restaurant. Our daughter was getting tired and cranky by that point.

We loved the Coral Reef. DS had the kids pizza. It was a kids pizza. Nothing fabulous. DBF had the Seared Chicken Breast and I had the steak. Both were really good. The chicken we actually tried to replicate at home. We have come pretty close and it is very good. Whenever we miss Disney, we have the chicken and some cream cheese mashed potatoes from Le Cellier. So yummy!

It is not what it used to be. My girlfriend and I were disappointed with it on our last couple of trips. So much so that it has vanished off of our must do list. The menu is weak and the food is ok at best. The tank is nice, for about 20 mins. at which point the novelty fades away and it just becomes another wall, and that is with sitting right next to it.

If you feel you must go to CR, might I suggest going to lunch and paying OOP. It is not worth the 1 TS credit or the dinner prices, but the lunch menu is a bit cheaper.

Coral Reef is my favorite restaurant - love the atmosphere and have always had excellent meals there.

We've been there twice over the years and both times we were disappointed. We thought the service was poor and the food was just OK. Everyone has different opinions so I'd recommend you check it out for yourself but Coral Reef will not be part of our future dining plans.

The food's OK. Haven't gone back since they took the blackened catfish off the menu. Be aware it's not a quiet and serene meal. Because of the tank, the atmosphere can be that of a playground with kids running everywhere, and if it's full it is very loud because of the acoustics.

I was there on Saturday for lunch, as a walk-in. Service was fine.

Lunch entrees were $20+, which I thought was a bit high for what it was... I had grilled Tilapia, which was very good, served over a bean salad (which was mostly greens, wilted from having the hot fish placed on top; some of the beans were under-cooked, as well). So, the fish got a :thumbsup2 from me, the salad, not so much.

My kids (4 and 6) both refused to eat the kids pizza, which is unusual for them.

I finished with an almond gelato, which was very good.

All in all, it was a pleasant meal, but over priced if paying OOP. For dining plan folks, it would probably be a good choice.

We like the food, the steak is pretty good, the lobter bisque is my fave as well as the lobster salad..

My favorite restaurant! :lovestruc I love the food and atmosphere. I always get seated on the upper level farthest from the tank but it's still great!

We always go to Coral Reef on every visit...but we always have the dining plan! I think it is pretty pricey for what you get, but if you are getting the dining plan, it is great!!

We've eaten here so many times that I've lost count. This place is definitely not as good as it was a decade ago but still decent. I think the food is okay, not great. I'm a real fish lover and they overseason the dishes here to the point where you can't taste the protein. I think the seats up against the tank are not the best seats in the house. Service here can be very hit or miss and we are always seated late.

The worst thing about this place is the noise level.

The food with respect to both quality and variety has declined precipitously since the advent of the DDP. And, they've jacked up the prices so that DDP users think they're getting a good deal.

And, I agree the noise is now horrendous -- tons of families on the DDP with kids running all over, etc. We used to love Coral Reef. We don't bother with it anymore.

I enjoyed our visit to Coral Reef. I went in expecting the worst(based on opinions) and left very satisfied. We had a seat next to the tank; our only complaint we had is when people felt it was their right to press their "assets" against our table to take a picture of the tank everytime a sea turtle passed. :scared1:

I'm not a fan of Coral Reef at all, it was the worst meal of our trip last year. The children's food was overcooked and very heavily salted. Ours was bland at best. The quality of the food we had, coupled with poor service and a very loud atmosphere, make it a no go for us.
