I may have to rent a car for a day during our trip in January. My daughter is applying to UCF and auditions happen to be the Saturday we're there. I figure a cab each way will be around $40. We'll be in MK the day I would have to pick up the car (Friday), so I think the car care center is the most convenient.... if we can get to it.

Sent from my SCH-I535 using DISBoards

In the past, when we have rented from the Car Care Center, the company came to our resort and picked us up. Worked out great!

Good luck with the auditions! Go Knights!

Yes, they will pick you up (and later drop you off) anywhere on property. You need to make a reservation for the pick up the day before. The phone number for that will be on your reservation printout.

The PP is correct, call them the day before and tell them the time and location at which you would like to be picked up.

What I'm not as sure about is if they'll pick you up at MK. I know they've dropped me off there (at what used to be the Kennel club...I forget what's there now), but I'm not sure about pickup. Worst case, if you're at MK, you may need to monorail over to CR/Poly/GF to get a pickup there.

They do not pick up at MK, but they do pick up and drop off at the Ticket and Transportation center (near the old kennel building which is now lost and found).
For pick up you do have to make an advance reservation...

We've never made an actual reservation. We've just called them, and let them know where to find us, and they're there in about 30 minutes to an hour.
They'll pick you up at any resort, doesn't have to be one you're staying at. Most of the time we call enroute to a resort from a park, and they're there shortly after we arrive.

Thanks, guys for the answers. That seals it and helped a lot. That's why I love the DIS. No matter how many times one has traveled their themselves, there's always new things to learn and those you can count on here for answers.

Happy New Year to all!

(btw, just to clarify about the auditions part. She's applying to the music department for vocal performance. Thanks for the good wishes :thumbsup2)
