Does Target do credit card lookup on returns?

I tried to google this and everything I found said their policy was strict but most of these were old articles. I bought a tote bag for 10 dollars on a wim and lost the reciept, it was about a week ago. I want to return it and I put it on my credit card. Will they be able to look it up on my card, or are they really strict about having a receipt? I used to work at kmart and was able to return stuff all the time with my cc, and I figure if they do it, why wouldn't Target? Especially over 10 dollars.

The Targets I shop at do. They can look up your receipt by credit card, debit card and check. I make sure to never pay by cash there anymore in case I lose a receipt and need to make a return.

Yes, they can 'look' it up on your credit card. they swipe the card and then scan the item and it 'finds' the transaction. I love this feature about Target returns and have utilized it many times. It'll only take a couple of minutes and is very painless.

I do love this feature! I hate trying to find CC receipts. They're happy to look it up as long as you have the CC. I hate paying with gift cards now because then they can't do the look-up unless I still have the card (much less remember which one I put it on!)

Another Yes here! I was so happy when she said ok we will put it back on your credit card and not just store credit!

Yes, they can look up credt card, debit card, or gift card (must know the gift card #) receipts. It's very easy. I've never had a problem.

I love it. I wish every place that limits the amount of no-receipt returns had the ability to look things up.

yes, they can look items by your credit card. it is a very nice convience, that is why i generally shop there even though their prices are a little more.
