So they make fun of disabled people, diseases and different races... is it funny or do they take things too far?

It's a shame but if they didn't they wouldn't have been around for 19 seasons. I don't watch the show thou. That's what brings in the ratings I guess

There are no taboos when it comes to Matt and Trey. Consequently it allows them a lot of freedom in regards to social commentary. And even though they satirize a lot of sensitive subjects, it's often to show how those subjects are treated in reality.

Not to mention that despite how raw they are, the show is expertly written! It may offend, but it is the most intelligently crafted offensive show in television since All in the Family.

Yes they take it too far but that is their niche. The big difference between them doing it and others is that nobody is safe from Matt and Trey. They will make fun over anyone and everyone.

Of course they do. And good for them for doing so. That show is a big giant middle finger to all the people who get offended about everything. Satire is meant to point out the ridiculous, often hypocritical behavior of humans. I love it.

I thought satire was banned in 2015?

I loved Southpark back in the day. I haven't watched it in a long time since I don't have cable. My two favorite episodes was when Cartman hit his head then thought he was a Vietnamese prostitute, and when they made fun of the Holocaust.

Of course it takes it too far!

It's refreshing to be able to laugh about things that everyone thinks anyway, but cannot say out loud anymore. That's why I love Family Guy, too. I don't even watch either show to be honest, but DH watched when he was younger, and now DS15 does. They tell me the funny things. There is someone offended by pretty much anything someone says nowadays, so shows like that are a fun outlet.

My favorite episode is the "Fantastic Easter Special" in 2007. I even showed it to my mother and sister who do not like SP, and they had to admit it was pretty genius.

I like the fact that they actually seem to go out of the way to intentionally offend certain people. Like the PP said, it's a well-deserved giant middle finger toward them.
