Santa is bringing DD an Ipod touch, should it be charged and loaded with her favorite songs, movies and apps? Or should Santa let her do it?

IMHO it should definitely be charged so she can use it right away, but she should get to put the other stuff on it herself.

Merry Christmas!:santa:

I know when Santa gets to my house, he has not done anything. :sad2: I really need to contact the North Pole and complain.

I think I'd charge it for sure. For DH I charged it and loaded it with photos and songs but that was b/c he wouldn't do that himself. If she likes to set things up her way/is more picky then I'd let her do it, otherwise it'd be nice to do some of it for her etc.

Thanks for all the suggestions, I will have Santa charge it

Mystery -maybe those "prep and Landing" elves should come to your house

:santa: I hope so.

Santa has a Kindle for DD (13) not charged or set up.

DD (10) is getting a DSi again not charged.

Both are coming with a case and Santa is DONE! :woohoo:

Charged but not loaded. Just buy an Itunes card, and let her order and arrange what she wants.

I've found that as they get older and the gifts get more and more expensive, picking out and downloading what they want is a great way to stretch out a gift:thumbsup2

Charge 'em! That way they can fool around with them right away instead of having to wait for them to charge. :santa:

Another vote for charging only. The gifts from Santa at ouor house are charged, have batteries already in, and all packaging has been removed. There is now packaging at Santa's workshop.

Chaaarge it:thumbsup2
I got the kids DSi's and I charhed them. Previously I have not charged and it turns out to be a PIA.

LOL Santa wrapped the DSi's here but did not charge them.
He didn't even think of it ;)

How old is DD? I would not preload it.

I'm an odd duck as when I Was growing up, I did not like my gifts preopened and set up.

So unless I had a way to repackage a nano without looking like it had been tampered with, I'd just let it go.

My kids have gotten DS's at times other than Christmas and they were patient enough to await the charging. :)

It's when you forget the batteries or components that it becomes disappointing. :)

I say it depends on the age of your DD.

When DD15 got her music phone combo last year, it was charged, but other than that I hadn't fiddled with it. No way would I know what she wanted on there. Our tastes differ SO wildly in music, the only thing I know about most of what she listens to is that I don't care for it.:upsidedow

However, when DD9 got her (inexpensive) MP3 player, I loaded it and arranged it for her. I ripped down all her CDs, and added some of my music that she likes AND added some of DD15's music that she likes (I had listened to and OK'd it first). It made it much easier for her to just open it, slap on the headphones and be able to enjoy it right away. DD15 passed her old MP3 to DD6 and we preloaded that too... Barney and Raffi and ChooChoo Soul! Thank goodness for HEADPHONES.

I also recycled my old MP3 players to a neighbor child when I got my music phone, and I preloaded that too. His parents don't have a computer, so that was the only way he could get tunes. That was easy though, he was the same age as my DD6 (5 at the time) so all the kids' cd's we own worked for him too. :)

DD is 10. I have an iPhone so she has apps and movies on it I was going to transfer to the touch. But now it's to late so we will charge it in the morning!! Thanks all

Well DBF is getting the same thing, not preloaded or precharged, he can do that himself. :) He won't really get to play with it anyway, we are leaving for his parents house after we are done with our gifts so it will either come with us to charge or be charging at home so he can mess with it on Saturday. :)
