Hello....Does anyone know if the REAS package sells out? How soon should I book it for our Feb 26, 2005 honeymoon sailing?
Thanks!!!!!

You can book it right away...you don't have to pay for it until your final payment is due anyway. We have already booked it for May 2005!

I was told by my TA that there is currently no cap on how many packages Disney can sell, so no, it doesn't sell out -- at least not currently.

My TA did mention that she has heard some rumblings from DCL (just rumblings, nothing definite so I wouldn't freak out about this) that they may put a cap on it in the future becasue the popularity of the thing is skyrocketing beyond what DCL planned on (the ability to make those advance reservations is huge!). Apparently they are selling so many that it is getting difficult to grant first preferences in reservation times, especially the closer it gets to sailings. Also, it is stressing the inventory of reservations left for those who book onboard (at least at certain times of the year on really busy sailings). But this is just a rumbling not a fact, so for now it's business as usual.

Makes sense to me. I can't imagine that they can allow an infinite number much longer as the popularity increases! Due to supply and demand it makes me wonder how much REAS will cost in 2006! :earseek:

Sounds like they need to start thinking about letting you reserve Palo and Spa at any time after you book - i.e., on a first come, first serve basis, since most folks really don't want to deal with it upon boarding.:earsgirl:

My thought exactly... why can't it be done like the shore excursions -- after you pay your balance or 60 days out, you can call and book these things? When my TA told me about how popular REAS was getting, I just thought "Well, duh." It's well worth it to me to get all that over with so I can just have fun and no stress upon boarding.

I think part of DCL's problem w/ REAS is also that they've gotten away from the "you will be contacted by DCL 30 days prior to your sailing to arrange times, etc." or whatever it was rule. Now you or your TA can call way in advance of that time and set up your ressies. I've seen people setting up times well into 2005 and mine are all set for the end of this year. There's nothing wrong with that if that's the way DCL wants to play it, but people who don't know about that change (those who haven't discovered the wonderful DIS!) and wait for DCL to call them or wait until 30 days out are probably finding it harder to get choice times for things and may be expressing disappointment to DCL that they paid for the privledge of booking in advance, but find they can't get anything close to what they want. That's just my thought... but it would be easier all around if you could just book in advance, first come, first served.

I've added the REAS package to my cruise 6-18-05 but I'm still not going to make my spa & Palo ressies until I know more about the Mexican Riviera cruises (when formal night/semi formal will be, special dinners, etc.). Do you think I should make my ressies?

I'm on a West Coast Cruise too...July 9, 2005...and have added the REAS package as well. I'm hesitant to make my requests too...until more is finalized about the formal/semi-formal nights. I really want to be in Lumiere's on formal night, but I don't know which rotation will make that happen until I have more info!!
