Hi, Debby!!! I just had to start a PTR because I wanted to be able to tell the stories that go along with the Tybee pictures -- you are right -- Facebook isn't quite as much fun for storytelling as the DIS is.

Twists and turns is right! There may even be some going around in circles with my trip planning.

I did make it through the two ten-hour days of activities unharmed for the most part. I have two more ten-hour days this Friday and Saturday. It's actually been a lot more fun than I thought it would be. It is all about using outdoor activities and "adventures" to foster team-building, problem-solving, and cooperation in the classroom. I laughed a lot during the past couple of days -- who knew I had a latent physical activity gene somewhere in me. It has been exhausting, though. At the end of Saturday I said to Charles, "You know how tired you feel after being in the parks all day and walking around? Well, multiply that by two and that's how I feel." I am still sore two days later.

Here, I am! Friday and Saturday I was at Berry from 8:00 to 6:00, and then yesterday, I was so tired, I just laid around and napped and read stuff for class today. Oh, and Chelsea left for Hilton Head Island with my SIL and her family on Saturday, so there was a lot of helping Chelsea get ready for her second beach trip of the summer. Lucky girl.

Just trying to decide what my next update will be...I was thinking maybe starting the Tybee mini-trip report.

Is it just me or has anyone else experienced the DIS Board Phenomena of More Trips? Ever since I joined the DIS back in January of 2008, it seems that we have logged more trips to Disney World.

Now, don’t get me wrong -- we had a lot of trips to the Place Where Dreams Come True before I found the DIS. I went for the first time when I was nine months old, and since we lived in Charleston for the majority of my childhood, we went to Disney pretty regularly. By the time I left home, I had been about seven or eight times. Then in August, 1995, Charles and I went and stayed at the Polynesian for our first trip together. After the advent of Chelsea, we went with my family in April, 1998. We went with his family in December, 2004, for Connor‘s first trip. Then, there was the June, 2007, trip, the Halloween, 2007, trip, and then I found the DIS boards…

So, after seven trips in a span of four years, certain members of my family were chomping at the bit for a trip somewhere other than Disney World (can you imagine???) I requested Summer Rental, thanks for the recommendation. I just finished reading Cinderella Ate My Daughter about the girly girl/princess lifestyle for young girls, it was pretty interesting.

I can NOT believe how little Connor and Chelsea look in the 2008 pictures. My goodness, they are growing up way too fast.

I totally have the more trips to Disney phenom thing since joining the DIS. Why do you think I haven't been around as much for the last few months, cause I know I can't afford another trip in 2011. Hopefully January though, here is hoping!

I agree, the DISboards probably generate tons of Disney vacations! I know being on here and reading about other people's adventures makes me long to be there even more. I do enjoy seeing other places as well, but it's hard to think about giving up Disney to get to go to those other places - I just need to win the Powerball so that I can do both

I TOTALLY agree with you, and I too am afflicted with the DISease! There is just something about the DIS that compels you to book another trip, and another trip, and another trip. It's that feeling that you have when you are standing near a ledge and you just feel like some invisible force is pulling you off the edge! It's DIS gravity! I succombe to it every time! And reading TRs and looking at all the WDW pictures here on the DIS is like having a chocolate cake in the house when you are trying to diet.... no matter how determined you are to resist, eventually you are going to eat it!

Wow! I love the Chelsea/Connor through the years pics! They are so cute!

I am a member of the DIS enabled more trips syndrome too! I came to the DIS on suggestion of a friend and just started with the main site, discovered the boards and holy moly! It's snowballed from there! I discovered people go back a lot, I found out about DVC, DCL and a bunch of other acronyms.
Not to mention have made some really nice friendships along the way!

Can't wait to hear more about Tybee Island!!

You are 100% right Jackie! I had been to WDW plenty of times before I joined the Dis but afterwards....that bug bit hard and never let go! As much as I always wanted to, I never thought I would actually go every year!
