Does Pandora have "real"animals?

OMG!!! And WDW has some of the most vicious birds and squirrels!!! I had a squirrel climb right up on my lap to try and get my food off the table!!! scared me half to death!!!

I'll never forget the first time we took DGD to Disney. DH was getting food from Yorkshire over in UK, I took DGD by the water to sit down. A lady next to us sat down with her food and I'll be darned if a seagull didn't swoop down and take the food right out of her hand as she was putting it in her mouth. I told DH we wouldn't be sitting down there.

Or earlier in the same trip when we were sitting in ABC Commissary and we looked down and there was a squirrel scampering around under the tables inside looking for scraps. We mentioned it to the staff and not only were they aware, they said he came in daily. They had named him.

Man you all are a group of wise crackers I didn't mean for it to be a stupid question - I get fantasy and all. I am hugely fond of Animal Kingdom in part because I enjoy zoos and wildlife. I was simply wondering if there were real animals sprinkled around Pandora. That theme would not have been my choice - I think you can incorporate real "wild" places and animals along with fantasy and imagination but that's just MY vision for Animal Kingdom. But no one asked me

And if you ask me, they could have found a way to add in a few of the more unique of the real animals out there. Some of them may not look just like Pandoran animals but they look pretty alien.
I think the designers of the land, and James Cameron, wanted to keep it pretty authentic though, so no animals, and no characters either.

If you are looking for authenticity in any of the WDW parks, I think you will be sorely disappointed. You know that's not really a mine train, right? And TT, they aren't really testing cars there.

Actually (puting on my nerd glasses) humans actually travel to Pandora, that giant plant that squirts water provides us with oxygen for us to breath in Pandora. And you can see foot prints and hear all the noises of the Pandoran animals you just can't see them.
