Does OKW have a workout gym?

If it doesn't can members use the gyms at one of the other vacation club resorts like BCV? We are owners at BCV but staying at OKW in February.

Yes, OKW does have an exercise room with typical equipment. It's located near the main pool. The room is not spacious, but it is available.

very small - if you have a car go use the one at VWL - much better!!!

but for those morning when you just don't want to drive - it is okay.

It is near the HH (where you check in) - just go down the broadwalk - it is on the other side of community hall.

K-wa, I think the answer is yes but I'm a little confused by the wording on the Member Site. I almost read it to mean we can use all the DVC resort health clubs while staying anywhere on-site with the exception of OKW where it is for use only while staying at OKW. Can anyone else help to decipher the following?

That's certainly the way I would interpret this statement. Perhaps the difference results from the fact that the fitness centers at the other three locations are part of combined hotel/DVC complexes. In the case of VWL and BCV, the fitness centers pre-existed the DVC units while BWV and BWI were constructed at the same time. The size of the various fitness centers appear to reflect the larger populations being served by the hotel/DVC combinations. I presume DVC pays some other unit of Disney for member access to these fitness centers but operates the center at OKW itself. The language may be a result of the way the agreement was negotiated by the DVC with Disney.

It will be interesting to see how the Spa at Saratoga Springs is handled in this regard.

No - the fitness center is in VWL and was built then - not before. It is probably the best on site of any of the DVC resorts until SSR is opened.

Someone (on this site) say that they were staying at WL or Polyn and were able to use the gym at VWL for free by showing their member card.

OKW is very small most guests won't go out of their way to use it - they would for the ones at VWL and BWV - I haven't tried the one at BC/YC yet.

I haven't used it myself but I have seen pro athletes using the one at Y&B. I agree that OKW is designed mainly to serve the guests staying there and doesn't have bells & whistles that would make it a "destination".

I worked out the YC/BC last November and it had excellent, state of the art equipment and a knowledgable staff.
