Does my AAA TA have it right?

:wave2: I'm a total newbie here, so patience please. This is what I have booked:

oct. 16-23
POFQ 2 adults,2 kids
6day MYW + hopper + water parks , no insurance

She says $1748.10 is the best price. But when she asks about any Disney Visa discounts, the CM tells her there aren't any. She never actually told them the code though, which I think is ZBG (I hope it's okay to post that, I've seen it on other posts).

Is this really the best price? Everyone talks about saving $200-$400 over AAA with their Disney Visa Discount, but this is better than anything I can get online with Disney directly.

I'm sooo confused! :confused3

I have AAA, too, and as far as I know if you book a discounted package through AAA, you're not eligible for any other discounts through Disney. Someone else can tell you if I'm right! :)

Yes, I know you can't have 2 discounts at once, but I'm just wondering if the price I got is a good one. People keep saying the Disney Visa discount is better, but I can't tell for sure.

Thanks for the quick response, wow!

If you go to www.disney.com, and go under "Tickets and Reservations" at the top, the page that it takes you to has a menu on the right that has 2006 and 2007 packages, and special offers. Click on the "special offers" section, and I believe that the first link is the same offer that they're giving Disney Visa card holders. I put in your information and it's not coming out any cheaper (I didn't know your kid's ages), actually a little more expensive. Good luck! :) Also, I would just call Disney myself and see the price with your Disney Visa just as something to go by. :thumbsup2

Also, I've seen free dining plans mentioned. Is that still available and how do you get it?

Thanks in advance guys, I feel so in over my head with this. :faint:

Thanks MDHkitten, I have done that with the same results as you. (kids are 6 and 10 BTW) Guess I just needed some reassurance. :)

Anyhow, I'm sooo excited about the trip! :Pinkbounc Kids are gonna love it (if I can get them to quit bickering long enough to notice where they are). We went back when the 10year-old was 5... she doesn't remember a lot but remembers it was a blast. Now it's just prayin' for no hurricanes!

Well, I'm glad to help! :goodvibes I love planning and am planning my first holiday trip for the end of November (after Thanksgiving). It will be my 30th trip and my dd's (26 months) third time to go. I'm determined to make her a Disney nut like her mom! LOL I'm at work, bored to death, so I'm happy to help! :teeth: Please let me know if you need anything!

I received the Disney Visa discount over and above my AAA discount. I'm not sure about the cost of yours, but seems pretty good to me. We are paying more than that for CBR in November with 8 day park hoppers + water.

Just got an email quote from MagicalJourneys for $1920.68, so my AAA agent really is the best so far. Who knew?

I have 6 nights at POFQ in early November, 6-day park hoppers, insurance, NO water parks and NO dining, just a few pennies under $1600. 2 adults, 2 kids under 10. Through WDTC directly.

Cleverocks is the first person with a package similar enough to mine to do a direct comparison. If you work in the differences for ins, water parks, and a child over 9, I'm paying about $50 more than that. However, early Nov is value season, and I'm in reg season(mid Oct). Yay AAA, it's still coming out good! :) Oh yeah, I have seven nights instead of 6 at the hotel... more good news.

you can get discount through Disney but you can't get two discounts on one package. For instance, we booked thru AAA and got the room discount. Then the free dining deal came up so the AAA agent cancelled our AAA room discount and gave us free dining since that is a much better deal.

what do you mean you can't get two discounts on one package? I have a AAA discount and then got the Disney Visa discount in addition. Not sure if it was just that much better of a price, but they gave me an additional $255 off my already $200 + discount for using AAA. Is this different from your scenario?

I think what they're saying is that your AAA discount saved about $200, while the other discount saved about $455. Thus, your AAA agent used the better discount, and his/her language was either vague or innaccurate when she spoke of it. Getting two discounts is a little like using two coupons for one item. Your grocery store probably wouldn't do it, and neither would Disney. That's my guess anyway.

Ooops, you're right! I was reading my chart wrong. Bet nobody could tell I was a blonde until now.

I do still have seven nights vs. six, though.

As I understand it from my AAA travel agent is that tickets cannot be discounted. So if you add up the cost of your tickets and thensubtract that from your package price and divide the remainder by the number of nights it sounds like you are getting a really good deal. We are going to POFQ in October as well through aaa travel and they saved my 300 over what i had reserved through Disney with the room only. Iwas goingto buy tickets there but aaa had a offer I couldn't turn down.

I knew it was too good to be true! I called the TA to make the final payment, and found out she hadn't included the water parks option on my tickets! I told her to at least twice and she still screwed it up! :furious: My new total is at $1920. It's still an okay deal, but sheesh. She's kind of an airhead, and doesn't return calls quickly... never again! I'll either do it myself or find a TA I can really trust! She also told me that AAA customers got a special "multiple fast pass" deal, where you can have more than one at a time. I wonder if that's for real, or if she got that wrong too?
