Does MK close early for Pirate and Princess Party?

Hi There - We are considering doing the Pirate/Princess Party during our trip in February. But my question is: do the close the park early and make everyone leave and then let people in at 4:30 or 5Pm?

Any help/suggestions would be really appreciated.

We are attending in January - MK closes at 7 pm, the party begins at 7:30. Check the DIS Home page for posted hours for February.

It is said to be done the same as MVMCP & MNSSHP, therefor the park never empties. If you are attending the party and in the park about 2 hours prior, they will begin giving out wrist bands (like EMH). Once the party starts, anyone without bands is encouraged to exit and will not be allowed on a ride. If you don't have a park pass for the day and are only doing the party, they have been know to allow early entrance around 4pm HTH

While I love MVMCP and MNSSHP, I hope these "parties" are not starting to be a new trend for Disney to make money year around.

I hope we're not getting into a situation where for a good portion of the year, we're going to have to throw out another huge chunk of money to get to stay in the MK past 7:00 pm.

P&P was added to a slow time to get more of us "regulars" coming back so we don't miss something. (You'll notice no parties President's Week , so they are succeeding with me extending my trip to attend).

That said, as you pointed out, they are a money maker so anything is always possible. The 2007 dates are out for MVMCP & MNSSHP and they start earlier in the season than I ever recall. (but again, count me in )
