Haven't been to since 2007 and have not heard much mentioned about the characters lately. :thanks:

No, sorry.

REALLY!!!? WOW!!! Glad we got to experience it with my son who was only 5 months at the time (refer to avatar pic). He'll be 4 this June when we go again and wanted him to actually REMEMBER the experience with the characters. Does anyone know why they took the characters out?

No - character dining at Liberty Tree was discontinued in January 2009 (with a brief resurgence in Jan/Feb 2010 while Crystal Palace was closed for refurbishment)

There are two possibilities generally discussed as to why, and they were not mutually exclusive of each other:

1) Cost cutting

2) MK had 5 TS restaurants, and three of those were character meals at dinner.

As for what the actual reason was, Disney didn't share it.

Does anyone know why they took the characters out?

1) Strictly cost cutting.
2) They found out with DDP, there is no need for characters.
3) They can fill the eatery anyway.
4) Plus, lots of folks wanted an MK TS-eatery without characters.
5) Many, including us, thought there were too many character meals.
