Does Kindle Fire come charged??

Do I need to charge the kindle fires two of my kids are getting?

I believe mine came half charged. We bought it on the way home from somewhere and were an hour from home but I was able to get it out and play with it some.

They do come partially charged. You might want to give them a full charge and maybe even activate them and add a few books or apps.

My sister and I just got one for my dad. We charged it and linked it an Amazon account. We also checked out a book he wanted from the library, and added the Time magazine app. That way he can take it out on Christmas morning and play with it right away.

Every Kindle I have ever purchased, be it an eink Kindle or one of the Fires has always come at least half charged. Most of them have come three fourths the way charged.

I would charge them and set them up on your wireless at the very minimum otherwise you'll have to do it with 2 kids standing over you while you try and do it. Until that's done there's nothing you can really do with the device.

Kindle tables, e-readers, and basically every other tablet made leaves the factory fully charged. How much charge they have depends on how long they sit before someone buys them. Most have some battery life, but sometimes you get one with a nearly full battery.

Last year my DDs charged and activated mine the night before Christmas and downloaded a few "freebie" books they knew I'd like. It was nice to be able to use it immediately.

I would follow everyone else's lead and go ahead and charge/set it up. Same as when I bought my daughter her iPod Touch... set it up, activated, charged and synched, even had games on it she had been playing on mine already, so it was ready to go. Nothing like waiting and waiting for it to all happen on Christmas morning.

Mine was partially charged. I had probably 2 1/2 hours before I needed to plug it in after I fiddled with it. The best Christmas present I've ever gotten! Love my Kindle Fire.
