Does it snow on Main Street every year?

I've heard that they do fake snow on Main Street at Xmas time. Is this something that happens every year? If so, does anyone know when it's starting this year? One of the many great things about living in So Cal is we hit DLR 1-2 times/month. One of the bad things is that my kids have only seen it snowing- real snow- once in their lives :)! How magical if Disney can help us out!

Thanks in advance!

Yes, they do it every year. They do it during the Castle Lighting ceremony and also after the holiday fireworks. The Holiday entertainment begins November 13th this year.

Cool! Thank you! Now I'm crazy excited for mid Nov to get here already! :)

Yup, after fireworks. :) It's fun, but maybe not exactly what you are expecting. We love it when it snows on MS tho!

Its amazing!! Gives me goosebumps!! At the end of fireworks they play white christmas... main street lights up and out comes snow!!

But make sure you don't stand in one place too long and near the blowers or else you'll look like you got stuck in the wadher before the inse cycle!

Do you mean "washer before the rinse cycle"? LOL :lovestruc

It also snows at the Rivers of America. :)

OT: You might also try a little trip to Big Bear. Not too far if you are in So.Cal. and would let your kids experience true snow. :goodvibes

it's weather dependent....the past few years i have gone during the winter they haven't done it because it was too breezy....so i have yet to see it....i'm so bummed, but hopefully this year.....

But if it's too breezy then they just don't do fireworks at all, in which case they wouldn't make it snow.......

Sometimes, they will do the snow without the fireworks. I remember one night last year when we watched Fantasmic. It was determined to be too windy for fireworks. Following the "no fireworks" announcement, it started to snow.... like magic. :wizard:

I have gone during the holidays for the last 4 years and have seen it snow each time. It snows on Main Street, by the Castle, and by the Rivers of America!! Winter can be quite windy on some nights so they cancel fireworks for safety reasons. You're then bummed that you miss the fireworks show...and then the snow falls...oh yeah...Holiday Magic at DL!! I hope you have a great time playing in the snow!!

This has been our experience as well, I was simply responding to something a PP said. :)

It also snows by it's a small world...and you can see the light show that they do on the outside of the ride, as well:

It seems like not many people ever mention it, but the light show is one of my favorite parts of winter time at Disneyland :thumbsup2

Just watched the link & I would love to see that! Is it at the same time as the fireworks or is it a show in & of itself? I am sure that this info is posted elsewhere but I have never noticed it. Thanks for posting that link! Something else to add to my next year's to-do list! :cool1:

I remember back in 2004 and it was snowing then. Also I noticed by Small World the snow was intense! It was like a Blizzard there while at Main Street it wasn't nearly as heavy.
