Does It Matter What DVC Location You Add On 25 Points

25 points by themselves are kind of worthless at VGF. The cheapest room there is 17 points a night, so the absolute most you could stay there is 4 nights in a studio every 3rd year, and that's with banking AND borrowing.

Be patient -- the BCV points will show up. Just call or email your guide every week and eventually he/she will get more proactive about looking for the points for you.
I agree but I would not be buying the VGF points as a way to book at 11 months. W have had great luck booking the 1 BDRM at 7 months. This would be more of a "hold your value" purchase if we decide to sell at some point in the future.

I would only buy where you want to stay, and if you are just looking at 25 points, I would only add on to what you have now. Other wise you will most often be disappointed. It's really hard to get some resorts/months now and it will only get worse as they sell more of the Poly, CCV and the new CB location. Good luck deciding and don't be too hung up on todays resale prices, they will all be different in a few years, most likely much lower as the country tanks.

Everybody says that but I just don't see it. Especially given our preference for 1 BDRM units. The way I see it there may be more of a crunch on studios as sites are added but the 1 BDRM units will be more readily available. Especially with more of the existing owners wanting to book the new properties as well. Maybe I am looking at it wrong but at least I hope I am right.

You're of course free to do what you want, it's your money. But I would caution against buying points that are going to be hard to use just bc they might hold their value better than others. I'd rather get use out of the points than hope they go up in value a few dollars.

Also, I am confused as to why you would want to pay the premium for VGF points that you're not planning on using at VGF. I believe you said BCV was your home resort? If so, you likely won't be able to use your VGF points to help with stays at BCV, bc BCV fills up prior to the 7 month period.

Therefore, if you expect to book 1 BD at 7 months in BCV, then why did you pay a premium for BCV points resale when you could have bought SSR?

We purchased BCV because we love the location….not thrilled with the rooms compared to VGF but it’s a nice easy walk to Epcot and the points are always in demand so I have options to rent them out if we don’t use them.

I do see your point of view, but I just purchased the 25 points at VGF yesterday. So far I have had no difficulty booking a 1 BDRM at VGF at 7 mths for April when my kids are on break. I suppose if at some point we want to book at Christmas it will be more difficult, but at that point, we can stay at BCV with my original 250 point contract. I got great value on that as a resale. So much so that we may use most of the points on a great trip and sell it as a stripped contract. I can then look to either purchase a lower cost contract at SSR and stay at VGF or if we get a good find, buy a nice contract at VGF to add to our direct buy 25 point contract. Either way I now have the Disney direct buy benefits without having to pay the double cost I would pay for a large contract through Disney.

Everyone has their own strategies and this just happens to work best for my family. Not saying I am right and others are wrong…it’s just how we are doing it.
