Does it matter if you are a first timer or not when making ADR/PS??

We are curious about something and do hope someone can shed some light on this. When you call to make ADR (or PS, or whatever they are called today) The menu "says" press 1 if this is your first visit or WDW, or press 2 if you have visited before." Why is that???? Do you get better service or something one way or the other? It may sound like a really silly question. However, it has been on my mind! :confused3 :confused3

I've been there 18 times.....just out of curiosity, I've tried both and don't seem to see a difference.

I am thinking that it is so that they know what things to go over or suggest.

My thoughts are that if someone has never been there or been there less than a certain amount, that they would be MORE attentive to that person. You are a new guest and may not know about a lot of things that Disney has to offer, so they may suggest more things to you.

Since I've been there so many times, they may not go over the "obvious" things that someone who has been there would know.

I always wonder the same thing too! :) I guess it's like the other poster said, they find out and offer more suggestions. I always secretly hope that because we haven't been there so much we get priority when making ADR's........ :rotfl: LOL... No chance, still can't get that Castle breakfast! :p

We have been many times and I usually press 2 when I call but have hit 1 a few times in error. Rather then hanging up and calling back I just continued with the call. I did not notice any difference in how the call was handled. This may simply be a means to generate some reports for the suits. You have to keep those suits as busy as possible.

I work in customer service and we used to have a "press 1 for this and 2 for that, etc." All the calls went to the same place, the only advantage was sometimes, if people selected the right option (which was hardly ever)...we might have an idea of why there were calling because we could see which option they choose. The options are very generic so it didn't really do much good so now those options are off. In Disney's case it could just be some sort of statistical thing to see how many calls they are getting from "1st timers". Or maybe its just a way to kill time while people are waiting?

I think its very much data gathering to find out how many first timers and recent guests make ADRs.
