Does It Make More Sense to Visit US on a MNSSHP Night?

I'm going down in October, right at the end of the month. 7 night/ 8 day stay. At least one day will be dedicated to US for WWoHP and the new expansion. What I'm trying to figure out is, should I visit US on a night of the party, and accept that I won't get to go to MK that evening for SotMK cards (I get packs every day during my stays, it's one of the main reasons I get hopper passes) or should I go on an evening where MK is open late so I can stop by after returning from US?

The only real draw to US for me is WWoHP. I've seen Hogsmeade already, this is for the new expansion, and some touring through the rest of the park at a leisure pace. Probably get my roller coaster junkie on, too, and ride Hulk as much as I can. But that's about it. CityWalk doesn't entice me. And US/IoA is great to look at, but I'm way more of a Disney girl than a US fan.

If you are considering going to Universal in October, you will need to pay attention to park hours due to Halloween Horror Nights. HHN is staged at the Studios Thursday-Sunday nights in October so weekends would be out for you...unless of course you wanted to stay for HHN. The Studios will close at 5pm and IOA at 7pm so that's about it for a day when HHN is going on. Basically...you are looking at Monday-Wednesday (until mid-October when Wednesdays are HHN nights during Hell Week) so plan and watch the calendar carefully.

I was checking over the dates from 2013 to get a feel for the nights, and I was definitely thinking a week day to make the most out of the park ticket cost and experience. I'm more or less wondering if it's worth it to go on a full-park night at MK, or go on a MNSSHP night and forego the SotMK card pack I'd normally collect.
