to get to participate in the opening ceremony at PSB? We have the earliest PS, I think, for PSB and would LOVE for the chance for DD-4 to participate but we won't be celebrating a special day. Most posts seemed to imply that most were celebrating a birthday. Some said to be the first at the podium. Any suggestions on how to get DD "picked"???

DD's b-day is on Aug. 25 and she'll be getting a Cinderella costume. I plan to bring it with us and possibly have her wear it to PSB. Either that or the Disney princess t-shirt that I bought for the trip.

Our PS is for 8:30 a.m. on an early entry day. Does anyone know if I did in fact get the earliest seating???

Hi - I don't have an answer for this question, but one to add to it. What is the opening ceremony at PSB? Have not heard of this and am just curious. So - Bump - maybe someone else will see this and know.

My DD, then 4, was chosen to be the guest princess of the day when we went to PSB in 11/02. I believe PSB was either still in its test phase or just becoming permanent. Anyway, no, it doesn't have to be a special day to be chosen. Our PS was for 8:30; unless it's changed, that is the earliest PS. After giving my name & PS time to the lady at the podium, she asked me DD's name. I thought this odd, as I'd never been asked that at any Disney restaurant before. I told her & she bent down to DD's level & asked DD if she would help open the breakfast for the morning.

When it was time, a CM put a robe on DD. (The robe that Snow White wore when she was a little girl). They gave her a princess hat to wear & keep. They gave her a magic wand. All of the other children who arrived after us gathered around her as she twirled the wand in the air 3x. When she pointed it toward the door, the doors "magically" opened. All of the waiters & waitresses were singing a "Happy Hello" song.

Then, we were seated at the first table where the princesses come out. The manager (?) gave Melanie a special certificate before the princesses began arriving. As each one came out, she greeted DD by name and thanked her for coming that day. They all signed both the certificate and our autograph book & posed for pictures. The interaction was wonderful! DD still talks about it almost 2 years later! We're going back this fall & we have the 8:30 PS. We're hoping for a repeat, but won't be disappointed if it doesn't happen. It was a truly magical experience to have once!

Sorry this is so long. I hope it answers the questions from both of you!

Hey that sounds great! Thanks for the info. It's always amazing to me to find out all the cool stuff Disney does to create magic. Do you know if they do anything special with princes there? Our little boy (2 1/2) will be going in September and he goes around the house calling himself Prince Phillip while he carries his sword and shield from the Disney store. He won't be "in costume" that day but it would be neat if they had a prince of the day too!

Thanks y'all!
Mark

bamagirl@hrt thanks for the response. I was starting to wonder if anyone would reply.

That's exactly what I was hoping for. Now we'll just keep our fingers crossed that a little magic comes DD's way!
:sunny: Not sure who would be more excited - me or her (LOL!!!)
