Does it bug you when an acqaintance asks you your age?

I willingly tell people I am 50! I figure I have come this far, why hide it!

I don't mind. I AM 46! It's not something that I ever ask anyone else though since people can be sensitive about age.

I get asked my age fairly often, mostly I think because I'm still in school and most of my classmates are under 25. Usually it comes up when someone asks me how long I've been married or how old DD is, there's always a pause when they look at me and try to figure it out since I look younger than I am. I have no problem telling people my age in this situation. I don't like it when we're out and about and some random person asks out of the blue, that's when I respond with the 'Why do you ask' and that usually shuts them up.

I don't mind at all, especially when they were thinking I was younger than I really am...which is 52.

No, I don't mind at all. Although I did give dd the evil eye when she told someone I was "pushing 50." I'm 46! I'm only "pushing" 47 right now, thanks very much.

I get asked my age when I mention that my dd is in college because I look pretty young to have a college-aged kid. And I'm okay with that.

Nope. I'm 57 and just glad I've made it this long. I hope someone gets to ask me the same question when I'm 85!

Not at all, but I'm also completely fine with my age. If I felt self-consious about it, then I guess maybe it would bother me, but I don't forsee myself ever having a problem with someone knowing or asking my age.

Nah, doesn't bother me.

I would think it a little odd if someone I didn't really know asked me, but it's nothing to hide. I wouldn't think a thing of it if a friend asked--it's just another piece of information to catalog away like my favorite soda or middle name.

Sometimes knowing someone's age helps put things into context around them. Knowing that they were 20 would mean that I would go to them first with a Facebook question or understand why the looked at me funny when I joked about Crystal Pepsi. It helps me understand what we might have in common.

Nah it doesn't bother me in the least for two main reasons.

1- I don't look my age. People are often surprised when I tell them I my age. The often think I am younger.

2- After two bouts with cancer - everyday, every year added to my age is a blessing that I stopped taking for granted a long time ago.

I actually enjoy it, I look young for my age & (at work) patients always ask me when I mention my kids. They're always shocked when I tell them I'm in my thirties. Plus I know their ages, so I guess I can't complain when they ask me mine!

I've never encountered this situation or don't remember encountering this situation. But, yes, it would bug me to be asked my age. I would never be so rude to ask another person their age. It's personal.

For my own personal preference, I don't really like people asking my age. Just me. Once I was in the foodstore with my two girls, and this old man with nose hair older than dirt came up to me and started to almost yell at me for having two children unmarried and at such a young age. I'll admit I do look young for my age, but I was about 26 and my husband was at work. Some people really need to mind their own business.
