Does it bother you when people say "disneyland" instead of "disneyworld"?

No, it doesn't bother me.

For the longest time, before I became hopelessly addicted to Disney World I could never keep them straight.

So it doesn't bother me if others don't make the distinction.

Disney World/Land doesnt bother me THAT much.. but when they refer to Disneyland Paris, as EURODISNEY.. that sends me nuts!! It hasnt been Eurodisney for about 10 years or more!!!

Yes that totally bothers me. What bothers me even more is when I went to WDW with my best friend she kept saying we should go to Walt Disney World first. Confused I said, ( we were staying on property) " But we are at Disneyworld". She said "no where the castle is that's Disneyworld". I said" Its the Magic Kingdom", the whole place is Walt Disney World. She argued it with me until the bus took us the the magic kingdom and she was the signs. Then there was a quiet. "oh"

as a CM... oooohh snap! I had fun with people who didn't know the difference.

One time a guest asked for Directions to Disneyland. They seemed like they could take a good joke, so I gave directions to Orlando Int. Told them to take a flight to Cali.... but if they wanted to go to one of the Walt Disney WORLD theme parks, just exit DTD and follow the signs. :p

I'm training my friend out of this because he confuses the heck outta me (and he's going with us in Dec)! DisneyLAND is only an hour and a 1/2 away. And he refers to the Magic Kingdom as "Disneyworld" (like many of you have noted). I am working on breaking him of that! LOL

My mother-in-law does this constantly!! She knows I am a Disney nut and sometimes I think she does it on purpose, because I always correct her. My father in law watches to see my reaction when she says Disneyland, then he just starts laughing. apparently I have an aggrivated look on my face!

Doesn't bother me!

But - then again, I have to live with DH - and he calls it "DizzyWorld"! :confused3

I don't care what anybody calls it as long as I get to go!!!

Somebody with little or no experience with the Disney parks I can forgive. But when people who know me and have been listening to my WDW stories for years gets it wrong, I correct them patiently: "Disney WORLD. DisneyLAND is in California."

"What's the difference?"

"Oh, not much, just about 2000 miles, two theme parks, two water parks, twenty-four hotels, a sports complex, and about 25,000,000 visitors a year."
