Yessomeone in your household is using their phone/tablet and has the volume up while watching random videos, without using headphones?
I know that many people don’t want to hear what strangers are watching if they’re out and about on the plane or sitting in the doctor’s office, etc. But if you and your partner/child are chilling in your family room, does it bother you to hear their devices?
OMG...I think it's one of the rudest things whether at home and even more so in public.someone in your household is using their phone/tablet and has the volume up while watching random videos, without using headphones?

I have always been jealous of that superpower. I cannot read or focus if there is any noise-- music, tv, people talking, traffic, etc. Even the noises of clocks and electronics bother me sometimes. It can definitely be exhausting. Not at all bothered, in fact, the content would need to be a significant problem for it to even register on my radar. My ability to deliberately ignore and focus as I choose is sort of a superpower and I tend to be mystified by people who notice everything all the time, it seems like it would be exhausting.
Yes, my dh watches many, well too many, guitar youtubes and how to fix car youtubes oh and music.someone in your household is using their phone/tablet and has the volume up while watching random videos, without using headphones?

As someone with ADHD who seems to hear all the things all the time, it absolutely is exhausting. It's also very overwhelming sometimes. Too much noise makes me irrationally snappy and crabby, and I hate that. Especially if I am trying to concentrate on something. I snap at my kids far too often just because they are being purposely loud and obnoxious doing something they think if funny. My 11 yr old has the same issue with hearing all the sounds. We were at Disney not too long ago in the evening, so long after his meds wore off, and he was covering his ears with his hands trying to block out the noise bc I forgot to bring his ear plugs. When he wrestles, he has to wear at least one ear plug to help quiet the noise from everyone yelling, whistles blowing etc so he can concentrate and feel what he needs to do. So I am extremely jealous of your superpower. My husband seems to have that superpower and it makes me want to punch him in the throat sometimesNot at all bothered, in fact, the content would need to be a significant problem for it to even register on my radar. I'm always paying music & no-one seems to care at all, if do they notice they tend to enjoy my DJ skills![]()
