Does Holiday Wishes Dessert Party consumes entire MVMCP?

Looking for opinions on the Holiday Wishes Dessert Party. DH thinks, after reading the details, that it will take up the entire party evening, leaving no times for rides. Has anyone done the Christmas wishes dessert party? Do you have enough time left over to truly enjoy the party and some rides?

I can't imagine it takes much more time that it would have taken to stake out a spot for the parade and fireworks anyway.

We did the Halloween one and it was awesome! We were already in the parks and by 5, fantasyland and tomorrowland started clearing out. We walked onto a bunch of rides and collected candy until we headed to the parade. After the fireworks, we still enjoyed time on rides. It was stress free!
