Does Helium Freeze?

I need to blow up some balloons for an event on Monday night, but will be out of town all weekend. I was planning of picking up a small "party" size helium tank from the party store near midway airport on Friday The problem is, I will be leaving my car outside from Friday till Sunday, and the temperatures are expected to hover around 20' all weekend. Is it safe to leave a helium tank in the trunk of my car for 3 days in freezing weather?

I don't know if it freezes, but I do know that ballons will deflate once in the cold then reinflate once they are warm again. I had this happen once. It was pretty cool. We kept taking it outside then coming back in just to watch it. It doesn't take much to amuse me.

Helium liquifies at only a few degrees above absolute zero. If your car ever got this cold, your balloons would be the least of your worries!

I just asked my husband is who is a doctoral candidate for chemistry and here was his answer:

"Everything can freeze but you will be hard pressed in your life time even to see liquid helium."

So I guess the answer is no.
