Just wondering if going back to Disney World a year later would not have the same impact?, If money was not a problem how often would you go to Disney World?. I know some people here have been year after year, so is it as good going back say the same time a year later?.

I would think you would need to stay somewhere different to make it feel different, but the Parks, I mean we really didn't see all of the Parks last time we went and we only did 6 days and 7 nights at WDW. I think there was heaps we didn't see. We never went to downtown Disney either. We can make it a business trip if we go in March or Nov so we can claim our flights on our tax. but really dont want to wait till the following Nov (2013) and want to get the best out of the weather as well and also the crowds.

Please give us some advice.

Thanks a lot

Karlie

P.S Hubby is uploading next part of our videos series which inc The Osbourne Lights,Red Lobster Resturant and Feeding Baby Gators in Orlando.Should be up later tonight. Watching them has sparked the "Disney Magic thingy" is us and would love to do it all again but a little different.

Well - if you look at my signature and ticker I can only say - not for me!

WDW is HUGE. Orlando is HUGE-R! :lmao:

There is simply soooo much to do in Orlando that I have been going back with long lists of stuff to do - and I just don't get to it all. I admit I now have my favourite things to do in the parks and limit myself to those. (e.g. Stitch's Great Escape is off my list :sad2:)

My last trip was not park focused. I did a lot of tours and activities, and went over a fortnight to get F&W Festival, MNSSHP, MVMCP, Osbourne Lights as well as going to Universal Studios, IOA, Kennedy Space Centre, Tampa, Crystal River Stone Crab Festival, swimming with manatees, shopping at Winter Park and heaps of malls (there was a lot of driving).

I didn't even get to the Tupperware Museum. :rotfl2:

I didn't get a chance to relax.

In 2010 I went cause I had a chance to take my partner and share it with him. In 2012 I am going to catch up with friends and do all the Christmas stuff. Disney usually have a few new and different things happening each year - and they run special events throughout the year.

Also - it is easy when I am on my own. Fly in, people look after me, reasonably safe, easy to get around, can be cheap or expensive, always things to keep me occupied. Huge variety in restaurants and hotels.

So every trip is slightly different and I have heaps of new things to do, and some old favourites to enjoy again.

so thats a YES :rotfl2:

We loved Orlando and your right there is so much to do there. We have a party of 4 to take and it gets a bit X'y, But the the kids will be a bit older this next time around so we hope they will try different things. We were thinking of doing a Californian road trip to Vegas, San Fran etc but I think the kids will get more out of another trip the WDW and as you say with all the stuff to do in Orlando they will not be bored, as the Road trip might be better when they get older. We also want to do NY and will do Disneyland just before we come home.

We go to WDW every year and will continue to!

Karlie, I think you've hit the nail on the head. I would not want to return to a Disney park annually for several reasons. One of those reasons is that the more often you're exposed to something, the less 'special' it becomes. I've really enjoyed visiting cities overseas the first time, returned to them several years later and felt that they never lived up to my original memory. Back when I was a child Disney was a 'once in a lifetime' thing. That 'one day I will visit Disney World/Disneyland' is this year for me. Sometimes the memories you make are so special you don't want to repeat them. Maybe eventually but not so close.

The second reason is because there's a huge wide world out there to explore. Disney is wonderful, but for every holiday? What about Venice, or Berlin, or the inspiration for the Disney castle Neuschwanstein in Bavaria? I tend to think that although Disney has a lot of magic, there's magic elsewhere too. Everyone is different but continual trips to Disney would be too restrictive for me (even though I adore the Disney animated features), and would spoil the specialness of the original trip.

I've visited a Disney park once a year for the last 5 years, (though 2 of those years was Hong Kong and Paris parks) I have stayed on property, but don't anymore because it is so cheap staying off property and I'm not after the full Disney immersive experience, I've always gone to Universal Islands of Adventure whenever I go to Orlando, and now with Harry Potter, I think I'll still visit it whenever in Orlando in the future. The last few trips we did mainly the special ticket things for the Magic Kingdom (Halloween and Christmas) and I just used the last couple of days of an non-expiring of a park hopper. But we went to Downtown Disney a few times, and spent one day going around the resorts checking out the Christmas decorations, which lots of people staying on property don't do! Plus a couple of dinners at resorts, even though not staying there. Quite a bit of time at Disney, but not 'in the parks'.

I find Orlando one of the easiest destinations to go to, it's a lazy person's holiday, but that means it's a relaxing holiday, you don't have to go far to anything, you don't have to plan anything in advance (or you can if you want to) you can really relax, but you can be as active or entertained as you want. You don't really have to think too hard, you don't have to do any major excursions, it's all practically on your door step. I usually do one other destination on the trip which is a bit more of a challenge, but Orlando is like a week at a tropical resort for me - rather than just relaxing on the beach/pool, which holds zero appeal for me, I go to Orlando. Some people go to Bali every year or so, I go Disney..... Disney is my comfortable familiar holiday spot where I can relax, with Orlando the prime Disney spot.

Hey
This is my 7 th trip / DH's 4th.....and we are off again this year...so much to see, and so easy to jump on a cruise to the Caribbean...

Although next year we have booked a 11 night cruise doing Queensland in march on Carnival...so that's our main holiday for 2013.
We can also save our DVC points for 2014, so we can spend a month at WDW......

We loved WDW so much we bought DVC points , and have just bought another 60 ....so many more holidays will be spent there....

:hippie:

From one of the rare blokes who contribute.....I would like to go back again and again just to see the look on my kids faces as we go through DL or MK main gates. I have now been 3 times and I still turn around at the exit of DL/MK and take in the main st / castle view one last time, suck in some air and think now how do I make sure I see you again soon......:yay:
