Does every "intense ride" have a "chicken" exit?

just wondering which rides have a last minute exit of you change your mind before boarding? I have been preparing the kids (will be 8&6) for some of the more intense rides showing them clips on YouTube and drilling into them the rides are safe and the scary parts are only pretend etc.. I'm not worried about my 8yo at all but her little sister is another story... she is very stubborn and can't be convinced of anything once she decides she doesn't want to do something... I can just picture it now...we are finally at the front of the line about to get in the boats for Splash Mountain and all of a sudden she decides nope she's not gonna ride it... can we exit at that point?

that's the main one I'm concerned about with her. we won't even attempt Everest or ToT we will use rider swap for those, and Rockin Roller Coaster gives me an awful headache so Daddy can ride that one alone (not to mention at least the 6yo isn't tall enough)

All rides basically have a way for you to exit without riding, if I recall on splash mountain, if there's not a dedicated exit, they basically have you load, walk all the way through and then wait on the other side.

This is totally not something to worry about. It happens all the time. Not just on the thrill rides either. You'll see parents getting off line right at the front bc baby is hysterical or bc toddler has to go potty, etc.
Rides that load and exit on the same platform will just have you walk out and if not like PP said you may have to just step through ride vehicle to other side.
Again, not a big deal.

ok good to know there's no ride where I have to go well "sorry it's too late now you're riding"

Parent Revenge: Bring your kids back again when they are teens, then you can embarrass them by reminding them how scared they were the last time!

Yes, any ride will let a guest opt out! Keep in mind on TOT that will involve an elevator - best to prepare a child for that!

Just an fyi about rider swap (and you may be aware already!) The traditional RS will only be offered if one of your kids does not meet the height requirement, (making them ineligible to enter the line or ride); in this case you will be given a return time to ride via LL for the non-riding adult and 1 additional guest. When the child is eligible to ride (meets the height requirement) but chooses not to ride you wait the line as a family and switch at the boarding, just ask the CM when you enter the line how to use RS with an eligible guest.

oh thanks for the info! I was confused about how exactly RS works, I didn't realize it was based on heights I thought it was also intended for "scary" rides

There’s an exit for splash before you get to load platform, but you can see the big drop before you even get in line so kids can watch the logs go down before you get in line. ToT tell the CM at load platform if you want to bail and then they can direct you out.

soooo we just had a mini test run at the local summer carnival... 5yo did NOT do great... lost of crying about too many people and too much noise...freaked out and screamed on a spinning tea cup ride and a bumblebee ride that is similar in concept to dumbo... I'm hoping to chalk it up to she was tired after doing a ballet recital this am...but I'm scared now...

Certified chicken here :) I often wait in line with my family then opt out at/near the loading platform. Have never not been able to do this.
