I've been reading the thread about how much it costs to eat at Disney.

Does anyone eat offsite to save money, even while staying at Disney? Does eating offsite save a noticable ammount?

If so, are there any particularily good cheap spots to eat outside Disney, but conveniently close?

If you're staying on-site, there's really no reason to eat off-site, in my opinion. I'm sure that others would disagree, but I say that the convenience of never having to drive your car or leave Disney property is worth the extra cost.

You can view the menus of all the restaurants at www.wdwig.com. I guess you have to decide for yourself if you're willing to pay the prices, but I find that the prices aren't too much higher than "normal" restaurants. Plus, the portions are large.

To save money, I would recommend taking snacks and breakfast food with you to keep in your hotel room. Share meals if you aren't a really big eater.

I thought it saved a lot of money. Breakfast alone was better than half. We paid 3.99 for a full breakfast buffet at Sizzler, compared to about 13.00+ for a full breakfast buffet on site.
I see what Kermit was saying, but, we have a car and the Sizzler was approx. 5 mins. away. To me, it was worth the savings.
