Does each room guest get a card with dining credits or are they all on one card?

We are DVC members and have three groups of people sharing a 2 Bedroom in January. Will each group have a seperate dining card?

I'm not sure, as we've never done DDP b4, but will in 2 weeks. However, we are also DVCers and when I booked it I asked that question. I was told that every1 in the room gets a card, and the dining credits are included on each card. People can split up and use their cards at different places if they prefer.
Each time any card is used, the credits come off the total of all pooled credits (on each card). Hope that helps.

Your card identifies you, no matter whose card you use. The credits are tracked in the computer, not stored on each card. So you could be at MK with the kids and your spouse could be at DTD, and both of you would be able to use your DDP credits.

I dont want my DSs card to have the credits or to have a $ allowance or to have his park ticket. Can I get the meal credits on 1 card? and get his park ticket separate?

You can have a key made for him that is only his park tickets and a room key. You will not need a card with dining credits on it. They are pooled so you only need to show one card from your party when you order.

Is there a reason you don't want his card to have the dining credits attached to it? If he is young odds are you will hold the key at all times and if he is old enough to go off on his own it is nice to be able to get a snack (unless he would use up more than his share).

Your credits will be pooled so make sure everyone knows that they can't use them all up. I could see someone seeing that they had 40 snack credits left and going wild if they did not understand that was 40 for the whole group and not just them :)

My grandson had his only card and yes it had the credits on it. Everytime I turned around that boy was using a snack credit. If you don't want your child to use the credits, don't give them the card. Not sure if the resort can block a certain card from being used for credits and still have it active for door entry or park tickets. I know they can put charging priveledges on some cards and not others. My GS was 11 last year during the free dining.

I dont want DSs park ticket on his room key either! We most likely will not be using them this trip. I'll be using them all to upgrade in the next few years.

Sorry if I sound ridiculous, but how do you use park tickets to upgrade?

Just tell them right away when you check in. They can put the ticket on another key and then you can store it away. It is not a problem at all if they know before they encode the key.

Not at all ridiculous. You can apply the value of any unused WDW ticket media towards the purchase of any new ticket of greater value. So those $63 one day tickets you need to buy to be able to add on the DDP can be saved, and used towards the cost an annual pass (or whatever ticket you need). (try saying that three times fast)

just adding a bit more info:
passes purchased before the January 2005 MYM intro are not upgradable if they have been used at all (unused days on the passes are still valid for admission tho)
