Does DLH have room controllers?

The last time I went to WDW (which admittedly was several years ago) the trick to getting a good room assignment was calling the room controller at the resort three days before check-in. Is there a similar trick for DLH? Is there a special number to call, or just the main line?

Any tips or tricks for getting the room assignments we want would be greatly appreciated. We have two premium view rooms, paid for with rented DVC points. TIA!

As with WDW, the Disneyland Resort does recommend that our Guests do make their room preferences known by contacting the appropriate agency (which, depending on the type of reservation, would be either the Walt Disney Travel Company, Disneyland Resort Hotel Central Reservations, Disney Vacation Club Member Services or the Third-Party Travel Agent or Agency) and asking for it to be noted on their reservation.

While I'm sure we do have Room Assignors, I've never heard of a special number by which to contact them.

So once it is noted on the reservation, that's it? I ask because we will probably arrive pretty late in the day, and I don't want to have all of the good rooms gone. Perhaps a call to the front desk while on the road that morning would help?

DVC is a little different than a normal room. Sometimes you are treated better, sometimes the same.

What I mean by that is when you stay on points, you could get an upgrade you don't know about until you check in, but they firmly request that you do not contact the hotel directly regarding these reservations - they must be handled by DVC. The member you are renting from has to contact DVC with your preferences - you cannot contact them.

Since you are not the actual member - you are renting, you have to remember to follow the DVC rules and act like a guest of that DVC member. DVC technically frowns on renting, so don't be pushy or it could reflect badly on that person.

We don't rent our points out, but we have had friends stay at WDW on our points when we weren't there. I had to do the calling and detail work for them. They were on their honeymoon, so I had to note that, too.

Thanks for the advice. I most certainly do not want to do anything that reflects badly on the DVC member who rented us points. We noted our preferences on the reservation several months ago. I guess the best thing to do is just roll up to the lobby whenever we can and keep our fingers crossed.
