Does DLH have Blankets to use for Fantasmic?

Sorry, no blankets from Disneyland for Fantasmic. In fact, I'm not sure I've even seen a blanket for sale at Disneyland. I bet they are there, but I've never looked.

If you're used to going to WDW, Fantasmic at Disneyland is much more intimate. You are right there near the action, rather than in a stadium.

I think the show is a bit scarier at Disneyland, but it's Fantasmic! That was super cheezy. Sorry.

What also works well are the Disney plastic rain panchos, plus you can use them for raincoats and for wet rides. Ask at the gift shops. They're around $6-7, I think, they roll up small and can be used indefinitely (unlike the disposable trashbag style 'panchos').

They sell blankets in the DL, though they aren't specifically for use at Fantasmic or themed to Fantasmic. As the PP said, Fantasmic at DLR is much more like watching the fireworks because there are no "seats" (unless you purchase tickets to the dessert party or find a seat at one of the QS places near by) and everyone sits on the ground. You can use a blanket, but prepared for it to be stepped on by other people, especially if you set up near a walk way.

BUt does the hotel (DLH) have an appropriate blanket in the room to take into the park to sit on?

Hotels usually don't want you taking their linens outside the rooms, much less to amusement parks. Though I haven't stayed at DLH since the 70s so I can't say for sure.

After reading the Hydrguy's Fantasmic Superthread, it appears many people put blankets down to mark spot to watch the show and hang out so they can have a good view. Just wondering if most people bring a blanket from the hotel, if they buy one or if they packed one from home?

We are going to bring a flannel backed plastic tablecloth.Waterproof and it rolls up really small.

I've never seen anyone with a large bed-sized blanket spread out on the ground. The largest I've seen is one of those throws that you can buy. I agree with the PP that the hotel linens are not designed to be taken from the room and used in this manner. People will step on it, it'll get dirty, etc. The tablecloth is an idea that might work.

Is your concern about having something to sit on or about holding a space for a large group?

More for something to sit on and also to hold the spot while part of the group goes to get a snack/dinner to bring back and sit and eat while waiting for the show. Hydroguy did recommend being there about 2 hours ahead.

How early you get there really depends on how "prime" a spot you want. You can often see the show (standing) without having to get there very early. I would look into the suggestion about something small (like the table cloth) and that you won't be upset if it gets stepped on and dirtied (most folks will try to avoid stepping on it, but it does happen especially as things get crowded closer to show time).

The Emporium and World of Disney (in DTD) will most likely sell fleece blankets that you could use. There is also a Target south on Harbor Blvd (about 2 miles for DLR) that will probably sell a table cloth or a cheap blanket.

Just remember whatever you choose to use, you will have to carry with you during the day (or you'll need to put it in a locker).

i bring a blanket from home...but the bad thing is that the spots people sit on are all bumpy and hurt my bum so what i really need is pillows but im not carrying them around all day:rotfl:

No. I don't think they want you taking their blankets out of the room. If you want one, you need to bring or buy one.

Or do you have to pack one from home?

I would say it would not be at all appropriate to take a blanket from the hotel. In fact, it's probably against hotel policies.

I also would not say that everyone there is going to have a blanket marking their spot. Do some people? Yes. If you leave your blanket and walk away could you expect to see your blanket curled up in a ball and pushed off to the side somewhere, if not completely missing? Yes.

You could also us a beach towel or sweatshirts if you wanted to (again, not a hotel towel, but your own).

HTH,

We have kneeling pads for gardening that are made of squishy material almost like styrofoam. They weigh nothing and I bought them at the dollar store. Great for parades etc.Dh carries a backpack with these and our tablecloth for Fantasmic and Crocs for water rides. The backpack still weighs nothing with all that in it:thumbsup2

i have a pirates flece throw i brought last time i was there nearly 2 to 2 in half hours early got rail spot and no one dared squeeze in but two kids tried but i told them they better go back to there parents. I saved that spot and protected it like a lioness protecting her cubs lol

planing on useing it for woc or getting $1 store table cloth for it

oooh good idea...i will definitely have to look into that one:thumbsup2

Honestly, go to the second showing after the fireworks. If you place yourself at the entrance to frontierland during the fireworks You'll be able to go to frontierland right after and get against the rail. I've done that many times. There really isn't a bad spot to see F! from except maybe behind a light tower/control board.
