I have seen some gorgeous in park pictures, but I heard you have to go through Disney. But I can't find anything on their site about Engagement pictures? I know they do the park shoots in the early morning but I meant just during regular park hours. Can anyone give me some info on these? Are they the same as a Honeymoon shoot? I am so confused.

They do have an engagement shoot in the parks, they won't do one in the magic kingdom though. :confused3 I was thinking about doing it in the parks but then when I heard about the cost and being rushed because you have to be done before the park opens, I was turned off. But BOY was I glad because I found Daivd and Vicki Arndt and did my engagement pictures with them at the WP and GF and I LOVE LOVE LOVE them!!! If you look in my PJ I have links to my pictures and my slide show done by them!! They were very good price and not rushing us for time. We have them already booked for our wedding in June 2012!!

You wouldn't have to go through Disney for engagement photos as long as you are wearing normal street clothes and not wedding attire.

Of course, you'd also have to have admission to the park(s) that day for you and the photographer.

I know many photographers have done this, and the key is to go first thing and take your shots before it gets crowded. Guests may or may not move out of your way, but for the most part, no one bothers you. For all the CM know, it could just be your friend taking some photos of you and tons of people are walking around Disney with really nice cameras, so there really isn't a problem.

I was just recently engaged this past april on my trip to Disney. I hired Disney Photography to do my proposal pictures under the fireworks during wishes in the MK. It was awesome. Our photographer acted like she was looking for a couple to just take shots and of course i said we would do it then i proposed to her. We then after the fireworks had pictures taken in different areas of MK The next day we did engagment pictures in Epcot World showcase before the park opened at 11:00. Karen Chandler is the lady from Disney Photgraphy, she will set you up with great photographers like i had. So you can have pics done in MK or wherever with disney photography. Now with that said there is a nice cost to it but well worth it for what you are getting. Good luck!!

Amanda,
I loved your e-pics and especially your slide show. I'm also loving your PJ and all the new stuff.:cool1: I'm doing my e-pics with David and Vicki Arndt too. We are doing the Polynesian and getting Cinderella's Castle in the pictures from the beach. Then we are going to WL and taking pictures there for no additional charge.

DPS does e-pics in the park but the prices are more expensive and I didn't like their pictures as well. You just have to go with the style you love or you may not be happy.

My daughter had her engagement pictures taken by Disney photography two years ago in the Magic Kingdom. They were part of her package instead of doing the bridal shoot there. They received I think 20 4x6 pictures in a very nice white disney professional album and all the xtra pictures. They came out beautiful. ONe of the poses they chose for their sign in board at the wedding. Disney also did their wedding pictures as well.

This is against Disney's policy and most reputable photographers will not risk being banned from ever being able to shoot Disney weddings or events which is what can happen if they get caught. Only Disney sanctioned photographers are allowed in the parks. I am not sure what the odds are of Disney approving anyone outside of DPS for this, but I would say pretty slim. Disney knows most local, reputable photographers and could spot them a mile away, so I wouldn't suggest trying to skirt the rules. I know some have, but in my opinion, it's not worth it. How embarrassed would you be to be escorted from the park and have your photographer banned ??

Not e-pics but we have done family portraits with DPS in the Magic Kingdom. We met our photographer in the Rose Garden at 9:00 a.m. We had pics out on the lawn in the Rose Garden, under the big Christmas tree (it had not been moved to the front end of Main Street yet, and in the Storybook Garden. In fact, while we did our portraits there were thousands of people all around us because they were filming the Christmas parade that day. Would you believe you don't see any other guests in the background of our pics??? Amazing. We adore the portraits. There were so many amazing shots of us as a family and our boys individually. Well worth every dime spent! :thumbsup2

Does she still shoot? Does she have a website you can share?

It was done by Disney's Photographic Services. I forget the name of the photographer guy. He was great. You can do family portraits or any kind of professional portraits with Disney's photographers in the parks. Here's the number I found for Disney's Photographic Services. (407) 827-5099 Unfortunately, I don't think I kept the files they sent me with the information & pricing. I know our "sitting" was for 1 hour and cost around $275. Of course that was December 2007. I'll see if I can get some of the high resolution scans to upload to Photobucket to show you a few. They really were awesome pics.

Here's the castle pic. You'd never know they were shooting the Christmas parade and the Jonas Brothers were singing some song 3 or 4 times...

I don't see why someone couldn't do engagement pics like this. :confused3

That's a lovely photo. You look like you have the park all to yourselves.
