Does disney insurance cover flights?

We have a vacation package booked through disney travel co. and took the ins. policy with the package. We have separate jetblue airline tickets. In case of cancellation would the travel co. insurance cover the plane tickets as well? Thanks, Linda

Your WDW package insurance would only cover flights purchased through Disney under your package. Any flight that you have booked separately would not be covered. You can, however, buy trip insurance for your flight if that's of concern. Check out insuremytirp.com.

Yes it does cover the airfare. Here is a quote from the brochure:

"Covers you if you cancel or interrupt your trip for
covered reasons. This includes airfares purchased
as part of a Walt Disney Travel Company package,
through a travel agent, or on your own."

We decided to get the insurance when we saw it included the airfare. I thought it was reasonably priced.

if you book on your own, how does it calculate coverage for it? And what it if it is with SW who offer credits instead of refunds?

You would have to submit the receipt for the airfare.

For SW, you could file a claim to get a refund rather than taking a credit for future travel.
