Does Disney deliver your luggage for a split stay?

I'm thinking of doing a split stay amongst 3 resorts on my upcoming trip and it would make things exponentially easier if Disney delivered my bags while I'm out and about in the parks. Does Disney deliver the bags to the next resort?

Yes, Disney will transfer your luggage from one Disney resort to another. You can bring it down to Bell Services/Luggage Assistance or call for them to pick it up and then, once it's in their possession, leave for the parks. It will be delivered to your new resort in the late afternoon, probably around 4 PM, possibly later, and you won't have access to it until then, so be sure to keep with you anything like medication or bathing suits that you'll need that day. You can pick it up at the new resort on your way to your new room or call from your room to have it delivered. Expect to tip on both ends of the transfer.

Yep! We always do split stays and Disney transfers our luggage from resort to resort. The poster above gave some great tips!

Thank you for the information! This is super helpful. I'm trying to think if it's worth it to not have the afternoon to do the pool on that day but thanks so much for the in-depth info!

Many people pack their swim things in a backpack and store it in a locker at the park. In the afternoon they go to either resort (you have access to both pools all day) and swim until their new room is ready.

Thank you! Your luggage wasn't available until around 4PM also?

That's a great idea - thank you for the suggestion!

I'll just add that one time we didn't get our luggage until after 10pm using the bag transfer service during a split stay. Ever since then, we have transferred our own luggage, doing so first thing in the morning via Uber and then heading to a park.

Wow - really sorry to hear they had problems that day. We've done the transfer via Disney at least a dozen times, and the latest we've had to wait to get our bags at the new resort was 5PM. 10PM would definitely be an unusual situation. But I can see how that would really create a problem for you.

Yeah, I'm sure it's not typical and most people haven't had this experience, just saying that they don't guarantee a delivery time, so the extra (small) expense of moving them yourself can be worth it if you want to be sure to have them when you get to your new room.

I always cab over to new resort with luggage and drop it off at bell sevices. Too many folks waiting until after 8 pm for luggage to arrive at transfer for my liking.

We do the same. We transferred to the GF mid trip and they couldn't find our luggage. It was really aggravating. But the CL CM took over and tracked it down somewhere so at least I didn't have to spend time at GS. Now we always transfer ourself. I figure it's easier to find the luggage at the resort vs somewhere along the delivery chain.

There was also one time that ME couldn't find our luggage once we got to our room from the airport. I told them to deliver it when they found it and it arrived around 1am. We had no toothbrushes or clothing. Stopped bringing checked luggage after that.
