Does Disney care which rooms people in your party sleep in?

We are going to be taking a cruise with extended family. My adult brother sleeps horribly when sharing a room with others so really wants his own room. However, its way more expensive to book him in his own room. If we put two people in that room officially, but have one person sleep in another room and him in there alone, is that an issue? Does Disney really care who is staying in each room or are you free to play "musical rooms" as needed?

Just know that each person will need to attend Muster in the station their assigned room is and not the room they plan to sleep in. Ditto if there is a reason to go to your Muster station during the cruise (highly unlikely but should be mentioned).

No, you can put a 2nd in the room for booking purposes AND LIFEBOAT DRILL only and have the 2nd person actually in another room. We are doing that for an upcoming cruise where my wife is booked in a room with her mom, but will be in the room with myself and 2 kids.

The other possible impact will be if you buy the cruise photo package, an adult who was booked in the other room won't be able to get pictures of just themselves with the package; they will only be included in pictures with someone from the other room.

I'll also point out that the gratuities for that second person (who's now sleeping in a different room) will be paid/given to the room host for the room he's actually booked into. Not the room host of the room where he's sleeping.

Another note, if you put a minor child in his room, he will have to give permission for the child to leave the ship with anyone but him.

If the "other" person will be a 4th or 5th in the sleeping room, make sure that room actually has enough beds.

Enjoy your cruise!

No, they're not Big Brother & they don't monitor guests' sleeping arrangements.

Good to think about... we would be actually putting my husband "officially" in my brother's room then he would obviously sleep w me and the kids. Would he have any issues taking the kids off the ship if I'm not with them for some reason and he is officially listed as being in a different room than me and the kids?

Yes. You would need to sign an authorization for him to take them off.

And make sure the cabin you book sleeps 4. Some cabins only sleep 3 a queen bed and the sofa folds out to a twin bed.
The cabins that sleep 4 will have a bunk bed that folds down from the ceiling.
