Does Disney automatically coordinate separate contracts?

It was my understanding that if you own more than one contract Disney will put them under a master account, with individual sub-account numbers (correct me if I am wrong!) If you initially buy from Disney, then shortly thereafter add a resale contract do they tie these together automatically, or do we need to contact them?

They wil not automatically do this every time. Apparently, they do make an attempt to match up existing member names with those on new purchases, but it won't always happen.

They may be able to do so if you call in advance, but it probably also depends on the legal names of the owners being an exact match on the different contracts. Sometimes the names on a resale won't exactly match those on the DVC master contract (middle initial, prefix, etc.) and they won't assume that it's the same member.

We have 4 different contracts with many add-ons and get 4 mailings for most things from DVC.

If you make all purchases thru Disney directly, you will have the same master contract and each subsequent purchase will be a different suffix number of that original contract. (.002, .003, .004...)

They must be the same use year for them to use the same base number. If they are a phone call to Member Admin should take care of it.

They have separate use years. Perhaps it is just as well to keep them separate across the board. My husband has taken to calling one of them his and one mine, although I will refer to them as OKW and BWV since those are the home resorts and I don't want him to get too possessive of either of them!

I can identify on this one. When we bought originally, we didn't know any better and the deed ended up in my name only. Not that we intended it to be this way, we just didn't think to say anything and the lawyer who handled the closing was not on top of it. I'd post his name for advertising but I'm sure it'd get deleted. I did add her as an associate member but associate members don't get cards.

Well, when we bought the second OKW contract, my wife made it clear she must be on it and must be listed first. She also insists on separate mailings, books, etc. That's why I know so much about how and how not to get duplicate mailings. Anyone can ask me about this if they need the info. It's funny that once we owned both she got cards for both contracts.
