Hi
I have an ADR for the Coral Reef but I was just going over the menu online with him and he was dissapointed that there were no crab legs as a dinner option. Just wondering if anyone has seen them on the menu recently.

Also I have a picky 11 yr old and a not so picky 8 yr old who will be dining with us. What have any of your kids out there thought of it?

Thanks!

Have crab legs ever been on the Coral Reef menu? We have dined there several times and have never seen them. Cape May @ the Beach Club has them on the buffet at dinner.
Our DD9 loves the lobster soup and the grilled fish for dinner.
DD8 has the pizza - it's a little bit better than the average CS kids pizza, but it isn't great.
We have also enjoyed the lobster ravioli, mahi mahi and the steak.
:)

Too bad about the crab legs.
We actually do have reservations at Cape May too for the following day.
Which do you like better Cape May or Coral Reef?

The lobster soup sounds great for DD~8 but I'm thinking DS~11 will like the kids menu pizza rather than one of the adult options. Too bad because we are paying for him as an adult on the DDP. Mabe DD~8 could pick something off the adult menu instead.

We have never been to Cape May - It's one of those places, every trip I say we are going to finally go and we just never seem to make it over there.:confused3 We have eaten at Coral Reef 3 or 4 times and have always enjoyed the food and atmosphere but depending on what time of day your reservation is..service can be :snail:

Crab legs have been off the Coral Reef menu for quite some time, along with most of their better entrees. It's quite a different place than it was 10 years ago.

Coral Reef can be painfully noisy. When it's not, we enjoy the atmosphere here, especially in the hotter months as this restaurant is dark and cool.

Service is always slow. This was our grandson's least favorite restaurant on our last visit there with him. The kids pizza was terrible. He's not picky but he wouldn't eat this.

The best place for crab is at Fultons at DTD.

So have the 8 year old order pizza and the 11 year old order whatever the 8 year old wants and switch meals. Then they share the adult dessert since those are much better desserts and everyone gets what they want without changing your DDP stuff.

The crab legs have been gone a long time. I know we had them in Jan '08, but I think they disappeared shortly thereafter, never to return. They weren't very good anyway, kind of fishy and rubbery.

We used to really enjoy Coral Reef even though the service was on the slow side all three times we were there ('97, '05, '08) but the menu changes in recent years have made it less appealing, particularly for my fish-allergic DH who isn't impressed by any of the choices he can safely have. My kids enjoy the aquarium view so we will probably go back eventually but we're in no hurry.

We did both last trip (first time for both). Coral Reef was OK but Cape May dinner was much better.

Especially since your DDP-kid sounds like a bigger/more adventurous eater than your DDP-adult, I'd recommend more buffets because children are not segregated by age in to different food choices: everybody can eat from the whole buffet. In Epcot, instead of Coral Reef, have you considered the Biergarten? We've been several times and really enjoyed the food, and the atmosphere is pretty entertaining too.
