I bought three hot pink beach towels at target this week and didn't bother to look and see if anything was in the washer when I threw them in. It looks like we might ALL be wearing tie dye tomorrow! The reason I am up late tonight is because that load is running through again, this time with bleach!
PLEASE GOD, NO!!!! MAKE IT GO AWAY!!! And take men's tank tops, anything "bedazzled", Dixie Outfitters, tapered, acid washed, or anything with airbrush designs with it!!
Yup! One of my 15 yr old daughter's new favs is a tie dye shirt. And, of course my 10 yr old was jealous when he found out she got one and he didn't! I forsee another purchase in the future....

I think the tie-dye has been making a comeback. They're selling a lot of it for little girls int Target. Guess I'll get our my old Grateful Dead shirts...and be "in" instead of rebellious.
I love the kid passed out in the front of the stroller!
I don't wear any tie-dye per se...but I do have a few tee shirts from Old Navy and H&M that like to 'magically' change colors in the wash...the green has a little orange on it, the baby blue has some white marks on it.
ah well..that's what I get for buying cheap clothes I guess.
We were in Wal Mart the other day and my dd's spotted some tye dye shirts and both asked if they could have a "Rupert shirt". One got a t-shirt and the other got a tank top. They are really nice because when they drip popsicles all over themselves you can't see it.
My dh wears tye dyed alot!! His buddies at work tease him but he is a major noncomformist on most things so these shirts are perfect for him. He says he wants to be buried in one.
We all have at least one....mailnly because last year, DD (in middle school) was in the play and it was based during the hippie era. The t-shirt she got for being in the play was tie-dye. DH bought one the day we saw the play. Later in the year, the chorus she was in at school was in a music competition and the group followed the tie dye theme as well (red/white/blue). Since we all went on the trip with the school, we each got a matching t-shirt!! It DID make it easy to spot their group in Hershey Park though!!
I think it's back. My ultracool 16-year-old wore a shirt when his band made its debut and it was a big hit. He and his dad, who has a little experience in the art, made the shirt.
There are lots of different techniques out there and if you choose just one color, it can look really pretty. It doesn't have to be the startling contrast of colors.
