I like this show and my dh HATES it!! So, I was watching last night and thought it odd the way they handled the kids grades. Every time they try to discipline these kids, the kids just walk away or dont listen. Overall, they seem to be great kids but have little respect for their parents, especially their dad! What do you guys think?

We watch it too,They seem to ignore the dad. But the mom does not put up with
their crap.

We watch it as well...but I didn't see last nights episodes yet.

I am absolutely appalled by their house. It absolutely disgusts me. I think a lot of their issues would be resolved if everyone in the family were assigned chores (including Matt and Amy) and kept their house in better shape. I know they pay their kids to help out on the farm, but I think that the house should come first.

Sorry, off my soap box now. I just can't stand seeing that beautiful kitchen/family room looking like a dump.

Oh, my!! You are so right. I always feel better about my own home when I see it.:lmao: There is stuff, trash, yuck everywhere!! When they go up the stairs, it looks so unvacuumed and yucky and then the boys rooms! Whew!! There is clutter, paper, stuff everywhere downstairs and trash and paper spread over the floors. Did you see the van last night? One of the twins wanted to take it on a date and had to clean it out...........YUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!

They do listen to their mom better than dad. Dad gets on my nerves with his whining and poor me attitude. He is so bossy and could do more than he does. I love Amy and the kids. They are so funnY!

I agree. While they seem like nice kids, they sure are disrespectful to their parents. And the grades....seems like a day late and a dollar short. About the grades...they sure picked up the pace when Amy got on their case....they got studying. Seems like if she'd have been online to look up their grades sooner and nudged them, they might have gotten better grades. :confused3 I dunno. Hard to say when you're not living their life. I was a perfect mom before I had kids, so I try not to judge. :scared: Mine are all still in grade school, so maybe I just don't understand. And the house. What a mess! I'm not going to win any good housekeep awards, but my house is never as bad as theirs.

roflmao!!!!!!!!
me and dh say this all the time!:rotfl2:

We watch it as well. :)

I love the messes in their house! It makes our house looks so much better! :rotfl2:

I'm sure they spend some time working on the farm and there is only so much time in the day. But surely the house could be cleaner. Its not like the kids are four. Our house could be better but with two young kids and two dogs....

What grabs my attention in the show is that many of the problems they have we have. :rotfl: We have nothing in common with Jon and Kate. :lmao: Matt seems like he lets the wife handle the kids but it seems like he might not be at home much due to traveling so it falls on her. The kids do seem to jump when Amy speaks. :yay:

I agree, they have no respect/manners for there parents especially there Dad.I think the house looks yucky-it could sure do with a clean+tidy up.As for the Dad he really winds me up and comes across so lazy.Always giving out orders on what he wants done with the house/farm/chores but never does any of it himself.x.

I love the Roloffs! :happytv: I have been watching it since it started and have really enjoyed watching the kids grow up.

I did watch the show last night and did comment to my DH that I thought they were being too slack on the kids. The twins need some serious restictions when it comes to their social lives. IMO, Amy and Matt need to follow through with their threats to take away licenses, etc.

As for their house, I agree with some of the other posters, seeing their house makes me feel better about my house. I try not to critique anyone regarding house cleaning.... you know the old saying... throwing stones, glass houses.:rotfl2:

I like this show too! My favorite aunt and uncle were little, and I loved going to their house as a child. Everything was my size! Both of them are gone now, but watching this show brings back so many great memories.

They live a very hectic life that reflects the activities of multiple teenagers. I agree that the kids can be disrespectful at times, but more than that, I think that they are just spoiled. They are also at very selfish ages. I also think that the kids have found that they can avoid dad by walking away from him. He has a hard time moving about, and they take advantage of that sometimes. ~ Not so with mom though!

We have been watching the show since it has started too, and it is amazing how the kids have grown. We think that they are a typical family dealing with typical issues, and they are just fun to watch!

avid viewers from NY here,
love the messy house:rolleyes1 makes me feel right at home:lmao:

I was thinking the same thing when Matt went up to the boys room and Zach
closed the door - blatent disrespect, THAT would NOT fly in this house:rolleyes1

...but -as both boys said, "Dad hasnt been involved in our schoolwork/grades for YEARS!!!" :scared1:

Love the show!

I LOVE Little People, Big World. I totally agree about how they treat Matt, and my thought are A. You teach people how to teach you, and B. I think Amy is 95% responsible, becasue she treats him the same way. In front of the kids. Matt seems like the family's whipping boy!
I love how at least twice a season there is a cleaning and organiation show...It never takes though!

We all have to remember it's a reality show and they are only showing bits and pieces of many hours of footage spliced together. We're not seeing everything about their everyday life in the way it actually is.

I agree. Think about how awkward it would be to always have cameras in your face, rolling while you're doing everyday things. The kids probably don't react to discipline because they know they're being filmed and they're trying to act cool for the camera. Either that, or they walk away because they're embarrassed about being corrected in front of strangers. I know I would be....

Little People Big World makes me feel good about my messy (but not THAT messy) house just like Supernanny makes me feel good about my children that are never as horrible as the featured kids :)

Yes the house cracks me up. There are certain jobs around the house that I don't like to do so they get neglected but on my worst day my house doesn't look 1/2 that bad. And other than MIL one evening a week to watch the girls while I work and DH goes league sports no one ever sees our house. You better believe if I knew my house was going to be on TV it would look metter than that.

That is the same reason why I watch those shows! They always make me feel better about the house and the kids :lmao:
