Does Anyone Watch Judging Amy?

UGH! I can't believe I missed the season's finale!! I watch this show EVERY week, except, apparently, last night! (Darn those CUBS night games!) Thanks for ALL the great updates tho, I feel like I DID see it. Maxine (Tyne) cracks me up somehow every week, she's just so 'real' sometimes. And, truth be told, I think I've teared up in nearly every episode....somehow, someway, they get me every week. LOVE this show!

I watch the reruns on TNT and try to catch it on Tuesdays when I can.

Who is Vincent in relation to the other characters? Somehow I've missed him.

Vincent was an original cast member. Amy and Peter's younger brother. He is ( was?) a writer. Fell in love with a yong woman who had no notion of family togetherness and deeply resented the attachment Victor had to his family. She ended up getting a job on the west coast and Vincent went with her, after secretly marrying her. Imagine the scene where Maxine found out her son had got married without telling her ! LOL Just before they got married, it was discovered that Carol ( his wife ) had breast cancer.

Kyle, a never before heard of cousin, was brought in to the show as a replacement for Vincent. Then in that wonderful way that TV people do, the whole family seemed to forget about poor Vincent, other than the occasional reference. He did show up for Amy's wedding, and at least one other time I believe.

I like the character who is Amy's legal aide and also Kyle's roommate. They've GOT to give her a storyline with a romance with the cop that Kyle did a ridealong with!

Yeah. I think that there was a bit of foreshadowing with Donna and the cop. Donna's so goofy.

I like the show, but I wish they would live up to the morals that I expected from it and stop Amy from jumping into bed at every chance she gets - makes her look kind of like a slut. I hope that at least Maxine doesn't jump into bed with out first getting married. Maybe it is just her (and my) generation that still thinks that is wrong.

Why did you expect morals from the show? I think you have the show mixed up with Touched by and Angel or something?

I personally think it is wonderful that Tyne daly portrays an older sexual woman, be it in or out of marriage. But I understand that some people do not feel that way.

Although I too think it would be magical if Amy found Prince Charming and they waited until they got married and lived happily ever after, I would hardly call Amy a slut. I don't remember one night stands. She's only had a few boyfriends on the whole show. Now Maxine, on the other hand, slept with her last boyfriend, and she was just talking with Ignacio about going away on vacation and whether or not they'd have one bedroom or two. I don't think that 'ol Maxine is a prude by any means. It's all about what is taught. And, if it were to be a theme of the show (sex), I don't believe Maxine appears to be the type to say, "Hey, wait til you're married."

I also love this show. Each week that something good has happened I think about posting to see if anyone else loves this show and then I forget. I was surprised by the ending....
