I'm trying to stay motivated to walk a mile every day. Now that the weather is starting to turn nice there is really no reason for me not to, but I sure can give myself a good argument.

Hope someone will come along.

M-F and usually once during the weekend I walk atleast a mile- I try not to look at miles- but I walk at a good pace straight for 30 minutes- longer on the weekends. A good headset might help you- I like the quiet- I walk at 6am and the birds are singing and the sun is rising- it doesn't get more peaceful and what a way to start the day! You can do it- and you'll feel so much better!
Keep it up!!!
Tara

Hi Tara - Thanks for walking with me:D I like the idea that you walk 30 minutes instead of a route, I might give that a try on the weekends for a change.

Anybody else? It's getting nice out.

This is a great idea, Alice. I usually use my elliptical, that way I can't talk myself out of working out when it rains.

Great idea to invite us along, thanks :)

I am wanting to be there. I walked 2 miles yesterday...slower cuz I took the dogs with me. I have today and tomorrow then will have to take a bit of a break...minor surgery thing. Will be back in and walkin or movin some way with you as soon as I can. Just keep going and I will catch up!

I walked 2.5 today!!!! Does that count??

I'll walk with you too! I need to get away from that stinky old Curves work out for a while. I go after dinner- is that ok with you? Come to my neighborhood- you'd like it. Lots of hills and beautiful homes.... and dogs don't chase you, but a little white cat with a jingle bell on her pink color might!

Me too! Everyday! :):) Today it is raining outside, but I am still going! Can't stop now, I am doing too good!! :)

I really need to get an elliptical though! Maybe DH could get me one and then hook up a computer to it somehow...that way I could DIS and be excersizing? :p:p

Okay- I don't want to ound dumb here- but Hey! I'll take my chances.... what exactly is an elliptical?

Well, I got my mile in, boy I wanted to find a reason to not go. But since I invited you all along I thought it would be rude not to show up:D

Beanie - Way to go, you are determined. I hope some of that rubs off on me! Sorry it was raining today (unless of course you needed it) we were mostly sunny and in the 60's.

Jiminy102 - Wow, I should say it counts! Are you training for a trip to the World:D

Tiger Lily 03 - Another 2 miler huh, sorry you won't be able to join us for a while, I hope all goes well, I'll be thinking about you.

Tara - Did you get out this morning? I just got back, I walk at night so I'm not in the kitchen foraging for something to put in my mouth.

Hi karebear1 - Did you get out today? No kiddies (the fury kind anyway) lots of ducks though:confused: It was kind of weird, a lot of yards with 2 or 3 ducks quacking around, better than those pesky geese.

nativetxn - You knooowwww we would love to have ya, but if it ain't broke don't fix it , right. We have ellipticals at work and they are always occupied.

Well thanks everyone for help keeping me honest:D

Alice, good for you for staying true to your word. I will walk with you, if you are still planning on walking every day. I am good about walking during the week, and walk 4 miles on my work lunch hour most days, but I am terrible about keeping up with it on the weekends. So, now I am committing to walking on the weekends too!

Linda

Thanks for the invite, Alice Sr! That 3 mile walk was just what I needed! :)

Karebear - look at www.sportsauthority.com for an elliptical trainer/runner. My DH uses one since a treadmill is too hard for his back. You do walking 'strides' but your feet are always on the platform, so there is no pounding or impact to your body. Does that even make sense? LOL! He loves it and gets a great workout from it. I really feel it in my upper thighs when I have tried it, so I usually wimp out and get on the treadmill instead (if I am joining him at his gym). ;)

Alice,
I'm in Wheaton, where do you live? Maybe we could walk together for real, I need a companion!

Karyn

Hi Kabuli1 - I live in Aurora the far west side, almost Sugar Grove, but I work in Naperville right off the tollway. We have a nice path for walking at work if you ever want to go at lunch. PM me if you want. One of my co-workers lives in Wheaton, that's a great area.

Blanq - if I tried to walk 4 miles at work they would put out a MIA alert;)

Geetey - Thanks for coming along, a 3 mile walk is just what I need to but I going to have to settle with a 1.1 mile walk:D
