Does anyone use the Genie to help guide them through their park day?

Nope, worthless, we thought. It kept trying to get us to MK rides we have no interest at all in. Obviously, attempting to move people to the less in-demand rides. What little we tried it, Genie itself, when in the park, that is.

It wouldn't have gotten us anything we wanted with G+ or the ILL$ either. DH checked a few mornings right at 7:00 just to find out. Anything we might've done went so fast it was ridiculous, worse than trying to book BOG.

Standby lines moved fast enough we didn't feel burdened at all. However, we do rope drop and are out of the park by noon typically.

Genie+ for us was only beneficial at MK while trying to get on rides. The other parks it was pretty much useless.

The only real feature of Genie+ that was of some service was the wait time feature. Although there have been discussions of it being inaccurate or trying to herd people from one area of the park to another, it did alright for us to see what the wait times for certain rides were before trekking across the park. We tested the accuracy at the beginning of our stay, and it seemed relatively spot on (minus a minute or two).

We liked the Genie + version- but the free version did not add much value. The only thing I liked was the option to check walk up availability for popular restaurants. We got a last minute reservation to prime time

Just a reminder to folks that the OP is asking about the FREE Genie service (no +). There are plenty of other threads to drop your opinions on the paid service.

The only thing I use from it is the wait times and the wait time predictions. I also look up dining availability on it. Every thing I use it for is available on the regular MDE except the wait time predictions.

I haven't tried the dining availability feature yet, but it does look like it can come in handy, and others have had success with securing a table.
As far as the personalized itinerary, it hasn't helped. When putting in my preferences I check 'accessiblity' as I'm disabled. In MK it keeps telling me to go to Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse. Send the disabled guy to climb a tree on the 'Lots of Stairs' attraction- I don't think so.
