Does anyone use Aeroplan? How did you get your card?

Hi, I'm trying to apply for an Aeroplan card in their web site but it won't let me as it says "address not found" .... apparently it only recognizes mailing adresses for major centres and not small towns??!! But I noticed at the top of the registration page for them it says "did you receive a new card from one of our partners" so I'm wondering is this the kind of card that if you don't want the credit card that promotes it (which I do NOT!) do some of their partners, such as the gas station that promotes them, have cards in-house that they can give out?

I know, I know I could just call Aeroplan but I hate making phone calls....especially to centralized call centres.

Thanks in advance.

Isn't there a link to email and ask a question? I know I have before?
I've had my card forever....and ever.....so no idea where the heck I got it!?!?:confused3

My kids just got Aeroplan cards. I simply registered them and they sent it. I went to www.aeroplan.com and clicked where it says become a member in the little orange box at the top under member login. I clicked no on the "did you receive a new card" thing.

Did you try different abbreviations for street, etc.? Proper spacing? It sounds like it is just having some difficulty linking your address up to actual addresses in the system. To check it I just signed my other son up and had no problems.

You would think there would be but no, only a 1-800 #. If it's this hard to register how hard is it to actually use your points!

HA--well that's another story! :rolleyes1

There is an email link..it's in the FAQ/submit a question area..down the bottom-click on contact us and web questions or issues..something like that. Then at the bottom of that page. I would just call..they are usually pretty nice to deal with! They take a few days to reply via email anyways...

Doesn't seem to matter how I put in "road", abbreviated, spelled out, left off. Plus the part that comes up when they say no match is "Nova Scotia" which is from their own drop down menu!

Oh well, I've missed the time to call the 1-800 # so too late for today....hopefully I'll remember it another time, I tend to only think of these things late at night when I'm online.

Thanks

You don't have to live in an urban centre. Anyone in Canada can get one. Sounds like an issue with the form. I think you'll have to call.

I used mine to fly from Halifax, NS to Whitehorse, YT and back. That's dealing with 4 airports. I had no problem booking it. You just can't wait until the last minute and, with all things free, you have to be somewhat flexible.

"FREE"?? Heck--mine costs me $50,000 a year in spending on my Amex hehehe.....
