Does anyone think that maybe Michael Jackson was murdered?

IMO, if what we heard this week was true, it wouldn't surprise me if involuntary manslaughter charges are brought against whoever gave him the propafol/diprivan, as even if it was a physician, that person strayed very far from normal standards of practice and safe administration of the drug. It would surely be a very complex medical-legal case.

I don't think he was murdered.

The only conspiracy I've been thinking about is I think the family has already buried him in an undisclosed location, or will bury him shortly.

I don't think there will be a body at the public memorial service. Which of course will lend itself to conspiracy theories for decades to come about how he faked his own death...

I think he slowly commited suicide like Elvis, Joplin, Henriks and all the other geniuses who were addicts. There is no reason a smart person would not know that they were playing Russian Roulette with life while participating in all this drug use.

I agree. This drug should have never been administered in a home (non-hospital) setting. It sounds to me like the doctor got sucked into the celebrity mentality. I do not think it was murder, but it never should have happened.

You do not hold a medical professional responsible when they give pain killers to someone for years, knowing they are addicted? He had a personal md. Its not like he was going into to the ER or to different dr. offices and getting these pills and prescriptions. That md knew he was addicted and chose to continue giving them to him. Just like the md did in the case of Elvis.

This drug was not a prescribed pain killer, it is an anesthetic drug. It should only be given in a hospital setting with proper monitoring and a proper crash cart. Propofol can cause severe respiratory suppression which can lead to respiratory arrest and cardiac arrest.

No, I do not believe that he was murdered.

He will be forever young in our minds, just like Peter Pan and Neverland.

No, I don't think it was murdered but here is a "rumor" for you conspiracy theorists out there:

We all know that Elvis faked his death and moved to Lansing, MI, right? Well, he finally passed for real (he was in his 70's). This opened up a spot at the "home" and MJ is moving in; so, those of you in MI - keep you eyes open, you may run into him at the grocery store, just like you did with Elvis.

I've given up listening to the MJ news. I wasn't a fan when he was alive and his passing really didn't effect me.

I think he died the same way ANS died, with help from hangers on and unscrupulous dr's. She had clown makeup on and he had a permanent clown face on. The similarities are all there minus the fact that he thinks it is a good thing to share his bed with children. The glorification of MJ in death makes me shake my head.

Yup -- was thinking this as I was watching CNN last night. No way somebody should even be given a chance to overdose if they have a personal MD living with them.

But...I'm still extremely angry that MJ didn't get more control over himself once he started thinking about having kids.

If it turns out he was injected with diprovan, even if he requested it, the medical professional who gave it to him should have some responsibility. Not murder, but some kind of negligence or manslaughter.

Personally, I think Elvis murdered him....he is still alive you know...or then again MJ is not dead he is living with Elvis incognito.

Not murdered... but the doc who gave the meds should be shakin' in his boots! I hope his license is taken and he spends some jail time.

Yeah, she only thought it was a good thing to share her bed with men old enough and senile enough to have regressed to a second childhood ;)
As to the original question, no I don't think he was murdered but I do think there were people in his inner circle that could have done something to stop what happened. Ultimately, however, the fault lies with him.

Elvis, anyone? ;)

Maybe he self-administered the injection. :confused3

That particular drug, but I was also referring to the fact that it has been reported that MJ was addicted to pain killers for years. In fact he went into rehab once for it already (canceled a tour or part of a tour or something)

Since the Porpofol is all the things you said, IMHO it makes it even more the responsibility of the medical professional.

Someone said something about people taking responsibility for their own actions and I agree to a point. But once someone is an addict to pain killers they really do believe themselves to be in pain. They truly need the medication. The drs attending to this person should not be continuing to give them those medications. I mean for heaven sakes, I have seen them hold back from giving someone who is dying pain meds. for fear of addiction!!??!! But we don't hold a md responsible when he chooses to continue giving them to an otherwise healthy person?
