Does anyone swim by the Mabrika cabanas?

I know the Mabrika cabanas are kind of in a strange area for swimming. Has anyone spent time swimming there? When I was on Lookout Cay, I swam in the ocean at Serenity Bay for a long time. My husband didn't get off the ship that day. Knowing how he is with walking, I almost feel like he shouldn't get off at Lookout Cay unless he is just going to kick back at the Mabrika cabanas.

My activity booking opens in 10days. I'm trying to decide if I should try for a Cabana (which would only be so my husband has somewhere to be stationed) or if I should just plan on him staying on the ship and maybe I'll try a snorkel excursion.

I never really looked closely at that area but other people have reported there is a lot of beach erosion near the cabanas and the picture I saw looked awful. I'm not into cabanas but I would definitely not remain committed to one until after you see some recent pictures. Perhaps it's all been fixed since that person posted their photo.
It can't hurt to book one, as long as it's cancellable before your cruise.

I’ve been trying to snag one for our Destiny cruise but so far no luck. If I manage to get it, I will report back at the end of the month!

My understanding is that it is not friendly for kids to play on the beach but I doubt it is (generally) unsafe to swim, or Disney would be warning people about it in the booking literature.
